The long and horrible wait - have I or have I not miscarried....

Comment Published at 18:2418:249 comments9 comments12 Visits12 VisitsReport

Am feeling rather down right now. Last night I started having some spotting (which did not happen at all during my first pregnancy) and ironically I already had a Dr's appointment booked for this morning. The Dr has said that there is a 50/50 chance that I have miscarried. He has changed my ultra sound appointment from tomorrow morning to this afternoon. SO now I have to wait. My partner is out of town working but at least my mum is travelling here now (she lives 4 hours away) to come in with me.

I guess one of the hardest things is not being able to do anything and knowing that I have no control whatsover over the outcome or the situation.

I cross my fingers for you that you have not miscarried...  I really hope the best for you.

And your mum must be a wonderful woman...

Thanks Jess my fingers are crossed too.

My mum is nothing short of a phenomenal woman. I am a very lucky person to have her in my life. We are very close.

Hopefully you had a good outcome with your ultrasound today.  Remember there is nothing you did, or didn't do bring this on.  All the best,

Jacqui

Thank you so much Jacqui. The fact that I have done all the right things makes it a little harder to understand why it is happening but you are right I haven't don't anything to bring it on. Mind you I was racking my brains last night as to why any of this is happening.

Must be positive. I am sure all will be fine and if not I will deal with it...

Oh chook I know exactly what you're going through. A couple of weeks ao I started to spot as well which then turned into a light bleed. I really, really hope that you're outcome is the same as mine was. I never had any spotting with my first one but for some reason it happened this time. It's bloody scary when it does happen! My thoughts are with you and have my fingers tightly crossed that everything's ok.

Hi Fi

Thank you so much for your thoughts and the positive story as it means good thoughts for me. I will let you know how it goes. Hopefully I will have the same outcome as you and you are so right it is bloody scary when this type of thing happens. I am so glad that you had a positive result out of your scare.  Last night I felt so scared and alone, it was horrible.

Yep, when it happens it's like the world stops turning and it's just you in that moment. My doc reminded me that spotting can occur in a lot of pregnancies and for many and varied reasons. I'm still in my first trimester and spotting is apparently quite common.... still it doesn't take away the feeling's of being alone, scared and let's face it absolutely terrified!!!!! You're not on your own chook, we're there with you and I know I'll be waiting to see what the result is either way. All the positive vibes in the world.....

Thanks Maggie, your kind thoughts mean a lot to me. I am glad that I was able to get in today as I don't know how I would handle another night like I had last night.
