| Me, Lor and 11 month old Sebastian |
Hi everyone,
Let's see, my partner and I have been together for over seven years now. We are only in a de-facto relationship, but in Lor's (my partner) eyes and my eyes, we are married and have been married for the whole time we've been together.
We've had our struggles, as every couple has, but our biggest struggle was having a baby.
At the begining of our relationship, we had both decided that we wanted children right away. Lor wanted ten kids: 5 boys and 5 girls, but I only wanted 3 boys and 3 girls. Anyway, try as we might, I just didn't fall pregnant.
You see, I'm a big girl, I've always been a big person. And because of this, I feared that maybe I couldn't conceive naturally. I even began to fear that maybe I couldn't have children at all.
But for some miracle, after almost seven years of trying on and off, I finally fell pregnant... when I least expected it.
And now I have my gorgeous baby boy, Sebastian.
He is the light of my life, even when he is trying my patients. Every night when I go to bed and give him a good night kiss, I look down at my sleeping little angel and wonder to myself; is he really mine? This wonderful little person who has so many personalities, so many different smiles and looks, and sooo much love.
And I know deep in my heart that I have been bleesed, for I now have my baby, Sebastian. |

Today was Sebastian's last day of the year at daycare. When I arrived to pick him up, he was happily playing by himself with a little toy truck - Sebastian is a bit of a loner, not because he doesn't communicate well with the other kids, but I think because he prefers it that way.
I've watched as all the little children sit around the toys together talking away at each other and my little Sebastian will craw into the pile, grab what he wants and craw away to play by himself. There are even times when the other children follow him and he will scurry away really quickly, trying to get away from them. Now I don't think he is "anti-social", just that he doesn't like to play with a lot of children. He seems happy enough playing with the older boys -the ones that are about 2 or so years old and treat him like he was still a tiny little baby.
It might sound strange, but he has had this little personality since he was about six months old. Sometimes he gives me these really mature looks, like he understands everything. Things like... little boys don't let little girls kiss them!
Sebastian and his little cousin Taneesha have pretty much grown up together. They were born a little over 2 months apart and have visited each other at least five times a week since they were born. Now Sebastian is one of those babies that don’t like to be held too much and Taneesha is one of those babies that loved to be held. Now that they can both craw around on their own, Taneesha loves to follow Sebastian everywhere. She loves to hug him and give him big sloppy kisses... but he hates it!
Every time she catches him and pins him down for a hug, he starts to cry really loud... its sooo cute. But I think he is starting to get used to Taneesha doing that now, because he doesn't cry as much about it anymore...
Little boys and girls can be sooo innocent.

Not much happening today, just got the girls over - Annie (Sebastian's aunty) and Amanda ( Annie's friend). They are practicing a song for the christmas party and have come to perform it for me to see what I thought of their song and singing.
They're pretty good, it's too bad I won't be in town to watch the performance, but that's okay because I get to see it close up in the comforts of my own home.
Sebastian is very quite and shy around new people and so he was angel for Amanda... but only for about an hour or so and than he lost that shyness and my little noise maker bubbled to the surface...
- Something Special about my baby...
Sebastian likes to make the noise of a duck, has since he started his baby talk at the age of about four months. I don't know where he heard it from but he loves to make that noise, even now when he is almost one. He doesn't have duck floaties in his bath, he has turtles, but that doesn't stop him from making his duck noises.
I was giving him a bath when he was about five months old... he was sitting in his bath tub with all three of his turtles floating around him, Sebastion loves to splash the water... anyway, he grabs a turtle and swinging it around in the air, he starts to make really loud qucking sounds. I didn't even realise what he was doing until my partner came in and said to him that turltes don't go "quck". But Sebastian just bursts out laughing and gave me a look like he knew something that I didn't... he is sooo checky!
In fact even now, he still sometimes gives me those looks that say he knows something that I don't. |

Last night I took Sebastian and his little cousin Taneesha to their day-care christmas party. It wasn't a long one, only went for an hour but I can tell you he loved every minute of it.
As soon as we got there he just wanted to get on the ground and go play with his little friends, not so Taneesha, she stuck with her mum. The only problem about Sebastian wanting to go play with his friends is that he doesn't like the feel of grass on his legs or feet and so as soon as he touched the grass, he wanted me to pick him up again and take him around.
You see, Sebastian, my little gorgous monkey doesn't like the grass. I know it might sound strange, he likes to play with the grass with his hands but he doesn't like it to touch his feet or legs. His aunty tried testing him to see if it was true... so she put him on the grass a few steps away to see what he would do. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he stormed right back to me, it looked sooo cute and sooo funny, I had never seen him craw so fast. She tried it on Taneesha as well, to see how Taneesha would react... but Taneesha just sat in the spot her mum left her and stared at us, we couldn't help but laugh.
Anyway, after a quick suasge sizzle, drinks and nibblies, everyone sat down to watch the children play with musical instrutments along with a christmas song... Jingle Bells. These were just the nusery kids - 15 months and under... they looked sooo cute sitting in a pile on the stage shaking away at the tamberines, playing on little key boards and my little noise maker, banging his heart out on the drums... he had the biggest smile on his face.
When it came to getting their presents from Santa... I have to say it was a luaghable sight. As soon as Taneesha saw Santa, she burst out crying, we tried to get her close enogh to Santa so we could take a picture... she was crying even harder now, so we did a quick shot and started to move away so they could hand out the next present... but we didn't get far, becuase Taneesha had a death grip on Santa's beard... everyone laughed.
Sebastian however, didn't care about Santa at all, he only wanted his present... and so since he knew how to rip things apart and Taneesha didn't, we got Sebastian to help open Taneesha's present as well, I think he enjoyed that part more than meeting Santa.
All in all, it was a great night for the kids... I should know, he was sooo full of excitment that he stayed up til almost eleven... but that's alright, it was his christmas party after all. |
