Yum Cha

We are not a regular at Yum Cha but this morning we had been invited to celebrate a friends birthday at a chinese restaurant in Northbridge. Not giving much thought to the type of food on offer we all bundled into the car to join the rest of the celebration.

We arrived a little late due to my bad judgement in parking and some dishes were already on the table. We gave Mia a steamed pork bun, prawn dumpling and spring roll to try but she wasn't interested in any of it. It was difficult to decide on something she would actually like, we ended up ordering some fried rice which again she wasn't interested in until the sweet stuff came out. She was told she had to finish her bowl of rice before she could try anything else. Funnily enough she ate that bowl of rice very quickly. Her favourite sweet item was the soy bean paste thing (no idea of it's true name).

We had taken a number of things to keep her entertained during the meal but she got the most enjoyment out of crawling under the table with her barking dog and keeping Hugh (the birthday boy's 15 month old son) entertained.

The morning was finished off with a coffee (baby cino) at cafe around the corner.

Will post some photos as soon as I work out how.
