Where we are at.....

Comment Published at 07:1107:114 comments4 comments18 Visits18 VisitsReport

Mmmm - another evening spent tidying up!  I made R tidy his room before bed and I told him the longer it took the less stories - so he only had one story and surprisingly went straight to sleep!  He has got too clever - his latest one is "I'll clean it tomorrow", knowing that "tomorrow never comes".  Grrrr. Anyway I stuck to it - it is just getting very tedious.

Bella had her third day at family day care - often the third is the worst.  But, still no tears - "bye mummy".  However when I got there to pick her up - a running hug and she was at the gate raring to go.  Still, I'm guessing it was tiredness as much as anything.  Her day care lady is lovely and loves her - she says she is so easily pleased, very sociable, very determined and stands up for herself (go girl!) - the only thing is that "rest time" does not seem to exist in her vocabulary.   So, of course she fell asleep in teh car on teh way home!  And that being as late as it was, I have only just got her asleep again now!  I'm exhausted.

Downer for the day - been selling on ebay to boost income (see our store above) - have already had 2 non-payers and feel a bit ripped off by a buyer who altered the postage amount on checkout, to way below what it should be.  Grrrr....  Very frustrating - and it makes you wonder if it is really worth it!  All the time and money spent - for very little income.  Oh well, must do something I guess.

I'm off to bed now - good night!

Re: Where we are at.....

Well done getting R to tidy up before stories - hope it's still working. Clever kids, eh! Who'd have 'em?! Glad B is enjoying day care! S is finally NOT crying when we pull up outside her childminders, and not crying when I leave her (though sometimes we get those on my return). Em cried the first 4 hours with hers, then the 10 minutes at the next, and thereafter until I was outside with the door shut! At Preschool she howled the whole of the first term, and they even gave up after 90 mins once and called me back. She hollers loudly. I have LOUD kids! Unusually LOUD!!! When they're upset, you can probably hear it down under!

Yeah, I must admit it makes it much easier to leave them when they are so good.  R was fine for 2 weeks then got upset at three weeks - both at childcare then preschool.  Hence why I was expecting it with B at week three.

I can relate to the loudness though!  The first week at day care she tried to put Bella down for a sleep in the afternoon - and she said to me "boy is she loud", as she protested very strongly.

Tidying up is a never ending job, much like the washing and dishes!  When do we get to breathe? Bummer you've had to non payers on ebay.  I've had a couple who have not sent items, and all ebay did was tell me that it was my loss and that they wouldn't do anything about it.

It's amazing just how clever a little kid can be and you need to be careful what you tell them because they remember EVERYTHING.  I hope Bella is enjoying her daycare, Haylee was fine for two weeks and then cried for the next two.  It's lovely when you come to pick them up and they just come running, makes you feel special.

Have a great weekend.
