Bush fire

Comment Published at 03:5903:5914 comments14 comments53 Visits53 VisitsReport

Dh has been called in to work on this fire which has burned about 350ha today. He is also working through the day, so it is very draining on him and I am three hours away so of course worried sick. Please pray he is kept safe....

It has been so hot here today - 32 degrees at 3pm, I know because I've been doing the weather readings while my sil is away _ I know many others had it much worse, but that's hot enough for me.

Otherwise all is well, but I need to go to bed so I'll catch up another day...

Re: Bush fire

I hope the fire is under control and all can get back on track...

I hope your husband and all the other volunteers out there are safe...Fires are terrible and we have so many to thank when they get so large and out of control.

Sending prayers

Oh Kath, what a difficult time for you! I hope the fire is soon under control. Am praying!

As for +32C - we are shivering away at about -8C tonight. Perhaps we could average it out - +12C sounds quite nice dont you think?

Sleep well! That's where I'm going now. Ni'night!

Re: Bush fire

Hi darl I hope everything went ok with the fire. I get nervous whenever a crew has to roll out for us and feel so much better when they are back at the station safely. Thinking of all those firies out there protecting us.

Re: Bush fire

i hope the fire is now contained . its such a worry for the firefighters and its upsetting when half the fires are deliberate.

it certainly was a scorcher in NSW yesterday penrith reached 41 degrees.

weather readings is a very important role that a lot of people do. do you also have a rain gauge there? i used to work for the bureau of meteorology in melbourne. we had volunteers all over australia mainly farmers. gathering information for us.

i hope by now  dh is home and safe and getting a little rest

Re: Bush fire

Yes, my sil does the temps, rain, clouds, wind etc....  every day, several times a day so I am helping out while she is away - the clouds are the hardest part!

Re: Bush fire

Thanks Janice - I get paranoid as 11 years ago this month the brigade did lose some volunteers in a fire - I hope it never happens again. Plus I'm so far away!  And he has to work tomorrow in a dangerous job!  (Do you get my sense of panic yet??)  !
