Nearly 2 years ago, my Darling Hubby and I moved from the Victoria, Australia to inland Western Australia to find work.
We planned to work hard in the mines for a couple of years then return home, buy a house and do the kid thing
I fell pregnant 2 weeks after we arrived in town (apparently there's something in the water - now they tell me!) and at the 13 week ultrasound scan we discovered I was carrying twins! The original due date was Chritmas eve, but becasue twins are considered term at 38 weeks, we avoided the whole 'Christmas Baby' problem
Being a regional hospital, I had to carry the babes to a minimum of 36 weeks to avoid being flown the 700km to Perth for the birth.. At 38 weeks I was begging to be induced - 38 weeks pregnant with twins is not comfortable in 40+ degree heat! Both boys, who had been nicely head down for the whole pregnancy, had somehow turned breach and transverse, so I was scheduled for a caesarian section which went increadibly well and I was able to bring my boys, Sam & Jack home 6 days later.
We have just purchased our first home (in WA - looks like we won't be heading back east anytime soon!) and have celebrated the twins first birthday |
