Support

Brielle's teacher said she should not shave her head because she will get teased and Brielle says that she dosen't care if she gets teased because at least she wants to help people. She is very proud of her decision and I think she should be supported especially by the adults in her life.

Maria had a similar problem at her school but it was from a young girl who told her she had a brain problem for wanting to get her head shaved. Maria said to the girl "at least I have the guts to help someone who needs help"

These things just make me all the more proud of the girls. This was purely their decision I didn't even know it was on until they came home from school with the idea. What parent wouldn't be proud of the selflessness that these to little girls are showing? I know I am almost bursting with pride and I will support them in anyway I can. I want to thank the few who have showed their support through minti. The girls love to read the comments saying how wonderful they are LOL.

Hopefully people will realize what a great thing my girls are doing.

Re: Support

Sounds like Brielle could teach her teacher a thing or two about holding your head high, and ignoring people that tease you, as well as being optimistic and proud of yourself.  Maria also sounds like she has her head screwed on nice and tightly in the right way.

Your heart must be fit to burst at their obvious disregard for people who are negative about their positive and active efforts to improve the lives of others.  (Gosh, I wonder who they learned that from?)

Well done clever Mummy!

Re: Support

What amazing children you have!!

I would be bursting with pride if they were mine too! It's not often you hear of such selflessness, especially from kids!

I agree with Cazza, try and get the school involved. Maybe even see if they will host a Shave for a Cure fundraiser. We did this where i used to work, we got a couple of local hairdressers to volanteer their time and basically it was $5 donation, the men got a haircut (shave) and the women had their hair sprayed with colour spray. We raised nearly $1000 which was not a bad effort for the place i was working.

I know i wouldnt mind my kid coming home with purple hair if it was for such an important cause!

Again, your girls are little angels!

Re: Support

You tell your daughter, that I am going to have mine all cut off again to support her!  Yep, Les is going to love me for that, because he will be in control of the clippers! lol.

I'd be telling the teacher that Brielle is an inspiration and that any teasing she gets will be out of jealousy.  That is, the other kids being jealous that they didn't think of it first!

Re: Support

You keep on supporting those girls of yours, and i think that what they are doing is great as well..

As for the teacher she should be having a little chat with her class and encouraging Brielle to do what she wants for this great cause....

A suggestion for you Lexi is to have a chat with the school principal and see if the school association would kindly do a donation from the school as well...

ALL THE BEST Girls and stand tall and be proud for what your dreams are on this ...
