Steps

Comment Published at 03:0003:000 comments0 comments62 Visits62 VisitsReport

Well this afternoon we were all sitting on the floor playing and Angus (10 months) managed to take 4 baby steps and keep his balance for a little while. And the good thing was that mummy and daddy were both there to see it. Before I know it he'll be off all around the place.

Looking forward to a one day a week break next year as we have just found out that Connor has been accepted into preschool. It will get him ready for kindy atleast. Just after we moved in he asked us if he could go to school. He attended daycare one day a week were we used to live. When I called the schools I found out that all positions in both daycares and preschool had already been filled but was lucky enough to get on a waiting list. And on Friday we got the good news that he was in. It will be great for him to get some friends down here and the preschool works out what day you attend depending on what school the kids will go to. Atleast this way when they go on to kindy there will be other kids they know.

Here's looking forward to lots of changes for the kids and a great start to the new year...

9 days till Christmas

Comment Published at 04:0404:040 comments0 comments43 Visits43 VisitsReport

Well the countdown is definitely on in earnest now. Connor keeps asking for the presents and isn't content to wait until christmas day. Ah well.

I have learnt that Santa is a good threat these days when he is misbehaving. We wrote our first letter to Santa this year and I tell him that if he doesn't behave himself I'll have to call Santa so he can throw the letter out..

Scary  But with some of these types of things I am starting to sound like my mother. And her and her partner are making the 10 hour treck to spend christmas night with us as well as a few days before New Years. Our big house will probably feel a little bit cramped with 2 extra adults. But I can't wait to see them. After seeing them nearly every weekend as we lived within a half hour away it's now been 2 months since the last visit. I know that Angus is going to suprise them as teeth have arrived. Number 4 is on it's way now (all come through withoin 6 weeks) And he has started crawling adn just about walking as well.

Ah well all. Merry Christmas to everyone and a very Happy New Year to you all.

Hot Days and bored kids

Comment Published at 15:5515:550 comments0 comments41 Visits41 VisitsReport

Well the hot weather is starting to hit. Supposed to be 39 today with a 42 degree day tomorrow. I heard that where we are now hit 48 last New Years and I hope they don't get a repeat of that this year. Wish it would rain though so that our tanks would fill up. but in the last 4 months here they have been lucky to have 1 weeks worth of rain. Makes it hard for the local farmers.

With it being so hot and that there is no undercover parking anywhere (I miss that) the kids and I are spending most days at home as it's getting to hot to go anywhere. But when we do go out Angus loves his new seat position as he can see where we are going now. Finally weighs enough to turn the seat around.

Have a wonderful week everyone and remember: Only 16 days till christmas.

1/2 the chickens have flown the coop.

Comment Published at 21:0221:020 comments0 comments41 Visits41 VisitsReport

Well today is very quiet in the House of Hillman. Daddy and Connor have flown the coop to head to his sisters 21st in Newcastle. Angus and I have stayed home as we thought that a nearly 12 hour drive each way was abit much for a 9 month old. He did okay when we moved house, but with an unhappy baby in the car it made for a stressful trip.

And this is the first time that Connor has been away from me for more than 1 night. This time it's a whole week. But atleast this means that I can watch my movies for once as Andrew doesn't like them and now that Connor is nearing 4 his comprehension is to great for Mummy to be watching horror movies.
