Footy; Fighting; Family!

Comment Published at 05:5605:5620 comments20 comments36 Visits36 VisitsReport

Another week has rolled around, and it is almost the weekend again - YAY!  Last week was a lot of fun for little MicroMe, he really excelled in his Little Tiger's class, and ran, jumped, kicked, punched, rolled his heart out.  His efforts were justly rewarded by Sempai Cory when he received an extra treat (a lovely lollipop), for most improved in his class.  There are some very talented little tykes that he trains with and he was ever so proud.  I can't say that he knew what it was all about, but that chest puffed out and he got a little swagger going anyway.

We went to the dojo the next day so that the boys could do a bit of sparring and training for their comp the next weekend.  We watched some videos and MicroMe and I practiced the things that he normally does in his classes.  We went motorcycle shopping, which is the best kind of shopping before having lunch in a little park.  It was a nice sunny day, so we grabbed a few bevvies from the bottle-o before heading home for a BBQ and a few drinks to chill out.  MicroMe was in heaven hanging out with the big boys, training, checking out bikes. and mucking about on his bike in the yard with them.  He was tuckered out the next morning though, so we went and had a whack of golf up at the Uni... I use the term golf very loosely in this case.

MicroMe seems to be enjoying 'school'  though all he ever seems to remember doing is dancing... MaxiMe did catch him kicking a ball inside one afternoon when he picked him up.  It went flying through all the pictures hanging off the roof, and hit the air conditioner... Quick exit stage left!  His art work is improving, and he is producing lots of circles and has a basic recognition of some letters and numbers... Though I think he learned a lot of it from NannaSylv and general talk around the house as much as from school.  We are thinking of enrolling him in some music classes soon too, that should be a hoot.

Last weekend MicroMe stayed home and had a 'holiday' with Nanna and Papa while MaxiMe, UncleDrew and I headed down to Sydney.  I played rugby against Canterbury, they were pretty big; even bigger than Penrith I think.  We started 2 players short which was a tough task, however another player arrived before the 2nd half, and we injured one of theirs enough to bring it down to 14 each side ; )  We were caught napping and had our first points scored against us, however the final score was 50-5.  Somewhere in the midst of after match breezers, I lost my camera ; (  Ah well, win some lose some, it may turn up on Saturday.

Drew 1st; MicroMe Most Improved; MaxiMe 3rd!

We stayed the night in Windsor, because the next day MaxiMe and UncleDrew had their debut Karate tournament which was the ISKA Winter Nationals...  We tend to do kickboxing and boxing mostly, however the few Karate classes they attended, paid off.  Even though he has had tonsilitis for 4 weeks, and was up all night with food poisoning the night before, MaxiMe managed to get up and was 3rd in the continuous point sparriing.  UncleDrew who trained hard all week; knocked out his first opponent with a head kick, beat MaxiMe in the semi finals and won the event!  All in all, it was a good weekend and they are now training hard for the World Champs in a couple of months, and I am trying to get my act together for our finals which start in 2 weeks, hoping to have time for lots of training, and to do a couple of Cert IV training courses I have coming up.  MicroMe said it is ok for me to go to 'Big Girl School' I may have a train the trainer type course right before our Grand Final...Country living is good! xox

Belting up; Bunking off; Being an antique ; )

Comment Published at 20:1720:1724 comments24 comments65 Visits65 VisitsReport

MicroMe has developed a new obsession, (to add to his list), of telling everyone to belt up. You barely get a foot inside the car, and it is, 'seatbelt Mumma, seatbelt Daddy' etc until everyone can confirm, (and prove) that their seatbelt is done up. Lucky for us that he takes it so seriously, as yesterday we got a couple of metres down the driveway, and he advised us that his belt had come undone! Speaking of belts, I managed to do his belt up on his gi yesterday well enough to keep it on for a whole session... Wonder of wonders!

As per the end of my last blog, we did keep our promise to take MicroMe to the park when he woke up from his 'little sleep'. Unfortunately by then the light was fading, so I didn't get many shots of him, (plus we were playing at the same time), however here is a little collage of us doing our thing at the park. The kids there were really nice too, and when I was up on the climbing 'thing', this little girl didn't hesitate to help MicroMe with his climbing. We are finding the local kids are really friendly and look after him very well when we take him out, which is awesome because he loves playing with 'big kids'. The week seems to have flown by; I think it has something to do with that saying, 'the older you are, the faster the days go by,' or whatever it is, I am too senile to remember such things now. Yesterday I got another step too close to becoming an Antique! This is Wikipedia's definition of it anyway: 'An antique (Latin: antiquus; old) is an old collectible item. It is collected or desirable because of its age, rarity, condition, utility, or other unique features. It is an object that represents a previous era in human society.' I will try to console myself with this, as it doesn't sound too bad LOL!

The day started well, I woke up snuggled between MaxiMe and MicroMe, (for some reason at about 2am, MicroMe woke up and insisted that he wanted me... Yay). MicroMe woke confused, and he wasn't sure if it was a 'school' day or not. I told him it was a special day where we were bunking off and doing nothing that wasn't fun. We had a shower together, and blow dried our hair, (I never usually do my hair at all). We did a fashion parade, then we went down the street to do some messages. MicroMe was very good, so he got a ride on the merry go round, before we set off for MaxiMe's work to meet him for lunch. We whipped out to NannaTerri's, then back into town and had time for a quick play at the park before Jaydee's Little Tigers class. He is going great guns, and I was a very proud Mumma, even when he snuck off the side of the mat and hid under my legs and did a poo in his nappy. (He still wears nappies when we are on excursions and at bedtime). I was having fun talking to Angus about being firemen, (well he is, I am interested in being a fire person), and I thought a cat was rubbing against my leg, looked down and there was MicroMe looking all embarrassed. We managed a quick change and he got back on the mat in time for a last run, to say thank you to his class mates, and of course to get his special treat from Sensai Laura who is very talented and absolutely lovely.

MicroMe had a great time running around with his new friends, and he seems to have respect for the training mat now, and I don't have to worry that he will run on while the next class is running. He showed some of the kids his sticker book, and showed off to the other mums a bit before we headed off for afternoon tea. As you can see, we had the creamiest, dreamiest, ice-creamiest afternoon tea at Annies Ice-Cream Parlour. It was so scrummy, NannaSylv shouted us, and MaxiMe had the same ice-cream that he used to get when he was a little boy. MicroMe fell asleep in the car on the way home, so we slipped on his jammies and popped him in bed before heading back down to the dojo. I was going to do my usual boxing class, except the boys got geared up for Karate. I was umming and aaahing, when Sempai Cory said to get on and do Karate. So, I had my first class and it was pretty awesome. The stances are weird, and lucky MaxiMe had taught me a Kata, (which we did), and I really enjoyed the 100 sit ups, (a most unusual occurance). The class was a bit longer than boxing and kickboxing usually are, however when Hanshi dropped in (after just flying in from Japan), and advised us that he had been training 11hrs per day; the extra time seemed quite insignificant.

I got some lovely pressies! I got my hair cut by MicroMe and MaxiMe's AuntieLorraine and I need to make a time for to get highlights and all that jazz... Thanks to MaxiMe and NannaSylv. I got an uber groovy Billabong scarf and matching gloves from MicroMe and UncleDrew. PapaPete replaced the broken spokes on my bike wheel, and got the wheel straightened... It took me a while to notice, I kept thinking 'why is he riding that bike inside, and why hasn't anyone told him off yet?' I cleaned up with poor NannaKate's extra funds when I was on NZ already; however MicroMe and I had a lovely chat with her and my niece Livvy yesterday, which is always a treat. NannaSylv has booked a lady in to come and give me a colour consult/makeup/skin sort of thingo, and some $$$ toward getting something to make me look preeetttty after that ; ) All in all, I am feeling rather loved up and spoiled. xox

Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Comment Published at 21:0221:0258 comments58 comments58 Visits58 VisitsReport

Little MicroMe has long gotten over his naughty little bug infestation, and Daddy caught him and held him down long enough to lop off some of his mop of curls too. He has been through a growth spurt, as you can see by his chubby face his picture with his Ducati (he got up to watch Casey Stoner in the GP), he knows about Ducati's Honda's Suzuki's and who rides what ; ) UncleDrew bought him a little toy red Ducati at the supermarket, and he is very proud of it.

MicroMe has learned about 'breaking water' as in the cold weather the bird feeder has iced over and he loves to throw the chunks of ice on the ground and watch them break. He has been a little disrespectful of his books and toys lately, a bit of ripping and rampaging has been going on. He also had a couple of weeks off from the gym due to illness and lack of transport; I was very disappointed last week when he hung off my leg and didn't want to do the class. I even jumped on and did Kata with the kids at the beginning of the class, with him hanging off my body, however he wouldn't let me go.

Thursday week ago was NannaSylv's birthday, and he was VERY excited about it all. We all wrapped up presents and wrote cards and surprised Nanna in the morning. The BIGGEST surprise was that MaxiMe got out of bed early and made Nanna an omelet for her breakfast. Later that night MaxiMe picked up an ice-cream cake from Annies Ice-cream Parlour, it was so yummy! It had 3 flavours and they decorated it beautifully, everyone had extra helpings. We also booked Nanna in for a massage on the Saturday, so when we were all out for the day, PapaPete gave her the gift voucher as a surprise. Nanna had meant to get lots of chores done, however she had to go and relax instead, (oh dear, poor Nanna).

We got our target (car) back on Friday night last week, just in time for me to take it on the 2hour drive to Penrith for rugby the next day. MicroMe came down and went to the bike shops with MaxiMe and UncleDrew, he was so excited, he had a great day. I can't imagine that theirs was very productive, though UncleDrew was gibbering and very happy after taking the lastest Blade for a test ride. In the meantime, we beat Penrith 60-0 and had a relaxing time at the pub afterwards ; ) We are still undefeated this year, and no points have been scored against us, so it is worth the trip, though I brought a lot of new bruises home with me. Later that night when we got home and MicroMe was settled in bed, we went out to a party... It was FREEZING, we were in a nice garage with a few heaters and a gas burner thing, and lots of alcoholic refreshment and silliness, but not enough to heat us through; winter is really here.

Poor MaxiMe has had flu-like symptoms for a few weeks, and for the past fortnight he has had tonsillitis and has been pretty sick. Drew and I went to kickboxing on Tuesday, and MaxiMe just came and did some weights and took it pretty easy. We did sparring afterwards, and it was really fun in the ring! I convinced Angela to come and spar and she whacked my bruised eye from rugby, which was a yellowy green, and turned it into bright purple and black LOL! It looks sort of like Egyptian style, and I didn't notice it until the next morning, when I was trying to wash it off. Anyway, I really enjoyed it, and I am keen for a private sparring lesson for one of my birthday presents... If MaxiMe remembers, he was well under the influence when I got him to agree on Friday night.

MicroMe is usually a very good boy, though his general attitude has been a bit out of sorts lately, he is living with 5 adults and pushing everyone's buttons and seeing who will let him away with things, (who wouldn't?). I sat down and had a chat with him about being a good boy and how important it is to use good manners and to respect his belongings, and use the potty/toilet consistently. On Thursday I finished knitting his scarf, and he is very proud of his Mumma's limited skilled creation ; ) He helped me tidy his room and do chores about the house, though it was so cold when I hung the laundry, he abandoned his bike, bolted inside and left me out in the cold alone!

We have now created the "SUPER STAR STICKER BOOK" which is MicroMe's little reward/diary book. It is better than having a chart, as we take it everywhere we go, and it means that he can have instant rewards for extra good behaviour ALL the time. Barney Bear also popped on a Bob The Builder T-shirt and accompanied us to the gym to watch MicroMe training and decide whether or not he worked hard enough to earn a sticker. Not only did he train hard, he played very nicely afterwards and earned 2 stickers. He also shared stickers with some of his little friends, while I cosied up on the couch by the fire and watched him do his thing.

On Friday we also went to NannaSylv's work and he helped Nanna hand out little posies of Daphne to her colleagues. He came into my work and he was very well behaved and got to have a cookie for his troubles. At the supermarket he was exemplary; he sat in the trolley for me for the first time in a year, and even when he pushed the trolley, he didn't try to run anyone over, (including me). He got to have a ride on the little merry go round and he was very happy to bump into some people from the gym that he knows. Once again we took the sticker book and Barney Bear watched MicroMe... Who was a little slow to get out there, however when he realised that Barney Bear was waiting for him to go and train, he couldn't get out there fast enough.

After kickboxing on Friday night, we headed out to a big bonfire out of town in this big field. It was a freezing night, but the fire was warm and this time the refreshments did the trick! It was good fun hanging around the fire, though we got home very late and yesterday was a bit of a bust! (Oops). Now we are waiting for MicroMe to wake up from his little sleep, as we have promised him a trip down to the park for being such a good boy. His little sticker book is getting very full, and everyone is having turns writing in it and helping him draw in it. There has been a small hiccup when a page got ripped, however we are hoping that ripping book pages is now a thing of the past ; )

Surprises; Showtime; Squatters!

Comment Published at 22:0622:0649 comments49 comments86 Visits86 VisitsReport

Well, after weeks of either MicroMe being sick, appointments in Sydney, or public holidays, I have finally managed to work 3 days in a row! I am sure that my employers are pretty happy with that too, and what a surprise; I really enjoyed it.

MicroMe & MaxiMe practicing MicroMe's blocks for Little Tigers...

Tuesday was fun at kick boxing; it was a great surprise to find that I didn't lose too much fitness after a couple of weeks off. A quick check with NannaSylv determined that MicroMe was tucked up for the night, so MaxiMe and I headed off with a couple of the guys for a game of pool; wow, surprise, we won! Drew called and told us to come up to the local and watch some boxing, then we took the motorbike for a burn around the Mount. (It was not Mount Panorama's hottest lap ever, but I was with a hot guy, and the moon was out, so I was pretty happy!).

MicroMe entertaining us at dinner with his climbing skills...

NannaSylv treated me to a 3 course lunch on Wednesday. I thought it was going to run off later that night at indoor soccer, however we had a surprise when we got home. Great great Uncle Max and his partner were up from Melbourne for a visit, and NannaTerri wanted us all to go out to dinner. We had a lovely time, I really enjoyed my salmon, capers, and dill in a white wine sauce with pasta, and MicroMe enjoyed his massive nachos. Maxime enjoyed all of his veal dinner, half of mine, half of MicroMe's and half of NannaTerri's vege pot pie!

Thursday was showtime! Dorothy the dinosaur came to town, and since MircoMe had been very well behaved all week, I took him down town for a big surprise! He loved it, he danced so hard that he fell over 3 times spinning around and he was so excited. Silly Me forgot to put the battery back in the camera so I missed documenting the action visually, however just picture a cheeky imp with springs in his shoes giggling and bouncing out of control. MaxiMe wasn't feeling too crash hot, so we went and bought him some treats for lunch and took them out to his work for a picnic.

Looking smooth with Nit stuff on his head...

It was then that we got a nasty surprise! MicroMe whipped off his hat, and we found that some creepy crawly cooties had taken up residency with no tenancy agreement in his hair - squatters! Seemingly they had only recently moved in, and didn't prove too hard to evict, however it meant that his mop top remains, as we had to cancel his hair appointment. We have done a lot of laundry and everyone in the house has had treatment, what a lovely family surprise ; ) Drew and I were meant to meet at the gym to do boxing, however as I grabbed my skipping rope, I saw him out on the mat doing karate!?! That was a surprise, however I got teamed up with this guy we know, and he was really helpful, and I learned a few good combos, and actually went alright in those horrible races were you have to run and do push ups and sit ups and crawl etc.

Today MicroMe has been having a good time playing on his bike and running around losing Granpa's tools and showing off for UncleJon, he particularly wanted me to share some of these photos with you. Unfortunately I couldn't pick which one was best, so I made a little collage. He almost ran me over while I was taking the photos, which is hardly a surprise, he is such a little dare devil.

Grandparents; Good Times; Grateful...

It is great to be in regional NSW instead of busy bustling Sydney... We have both got fun new jobs working for good companies, with really nice colleagues. MicroMe is in an awesome 'school' with lovely teachers not far from MaxiMe, and we all take turns car pooling and picking each other up - and there is hardly any traffic!

We have time to go out together - yes TOGETHER, to sports, parties, clubs, and all that stuff that seemed to only happen once or twice a year before. We have done kickboxing, soccer, boxing, grappling and weapons training together - yes TOGETHER again, such a novelty, so fun! MaxiMe gets to hang with UncleDrew and ride with him too as of yesterday when he got his wheels registered. (My eyes are GREEN - mint green!).

NannaSylv teaches practical things, about the weather, colours, counting and gives lots of cuddles...

NannaSylv and MicroMe reading one of the MANY books that she has contributed to his little library.

How have we been so lucky? Well thanks in part to UncleDrew whom MicroMe absolutely adores, it is mainly due to the wonderful support we are getting from NannaSylv and GranpaPete. Their patience, kindness, and accommodation of our little family has given us an opportunity for a new start in life, and we are most grateful!

GranpaPete teaches how to chill with the guys, tell funny stories, and all about cars and motorbikes...

Granpa fixes things for MicroMe to play on - he usually wears a helmet, however he was posing...

NanaKate in NZ sent over 3 beautiful winter jumpers for MicroMe which are much needed up here - we will get you over to babysit (er I mean for a holiday), very soon Ma! Life is good, having time to enjoy it and live it up properly and save for our future is a luxury that you guys are providing for us - THANK YOU!

Comment Published at 17:0617:0623 comments23 comments58 Visits58 VisitsReport

Ah, some of my favourite things!  So here is us playing around on UncleDrew's blade, out at Granma & Pops the other weekend... MicroMe has has own wee bike to grow into, and MaxiMe is going to register Drew's spare and ride it around until it is sold.  I will be stuck without 2 wheels, so I am plotting and planning to remedy that - especially with petrol prices how they are, and it being a 440km round trip to our home games for rugby.

MicroMe had his check up from his hydrocele surgery a week ago, and all is good - though he still does some crazy things and doesn't seem to have learned from that experience at all.  We took the opportunity to stay with some friends and I was meant to have rugby the next day, however Penrith forfeited about an hour and a half before the game!  Losers in every sense of the word - though it would have been more fun to kick their butts for real.  We also went shopping which is one of my pet hates, we got MaxiMe some skins and MicroMe had fun in the little shopping car and riding in the plane.

We had some friends up for a BBQ on the last day of the long weekend... It carried on well into the night, and I think the boys struggled getting out of bed the next day.  I just fired up with a cappucino and fudge for brekkie the next morning - my current winter cure-all LOL!  I had my final appointment at the Sydney Eye Hospital (well I hope it is), last Wednesday, so yet another trip to SydneyTown - a boring day, however a relief to find that my eye is now stable and I don't need to go back unless I have an emergency (not planning on that).

Unfortunately MicroMe picked up some bug at 'school' on Friday, and he had a fever most of the weekend, so I didn't get to Newcastle to my great Uncle's funeral, or back to Sydney to play rugby and see my friend off.  We did have a nice weekend though I felt guilty about not attending those things.  We took MicroMe to tea at NanaTerri's and he learned all about the fire and how it works (and NOT to touch or be silly near it).  We got to sneak out for a few hours late on Saturday night when we finally got MicroMe's temp stabilised and he was settled... When we got home MaxiMe ended up staying up with him for the night - such a hardship, what a toss, mothers do it all the time - men; so soft.

MicroMe is still loving his new school, the gym and he has now discovered the airport and loves watching the planes come in.  He saw his first flying doctor plane land the other day and a patient going off to the hospital in the ambo.  MaxiMe seems to be settling in well at his job, and there is a nice picnic spot nearby, for those days that he forgets his lunch and we run it in to him, (yes, I know, how positively domesticated of me).  He is dead keen to get over to Thailand to kickboxing camp, and we got him a private lesson with Hanshi at our new gym - he got a bleeding nose - awesome!   My new job is really cool, I am loving working with my friend again, and we went to a Business Chamber cocktail party the other night and the Business Women of the Year for 2005 was there and gave a very motivational, interesting and inspiring talk about her experiences.  I gave myself a week off excercising last week, and ate lots of naughty things, so I will have to get back into it as soon as I get this little nudey MircoMe down for a nap.  (He keeps nuding up all the time - must get that from his father).

MicroMe Says: Look @ My Gi Minti Mates!

Comment Published at 23:3323:3314 comments14 comments48 Visits48 VisitsReport

Heyo guys!

I have been sick for the past week! I got to stay home with GranpaPete & UncleDrew on Monday, then I went to work with Mumma on Tuesday for a half day, and Daddy stayed home with me on Wednesday for a half day. I had a sore nose, throat, ears, tummy & I was VERY cranky. I didn't get to go to my Little Tigers class at the PKA gym on Thursday and Friday, and I worked really hard to be well for today. They had a demonstration day at the gym and we saw our new friends doing their thing. I also got my first gi ever, for training in, and I went down the street with Mumma & got camo jandals & a matching hat too, 'cos we took off in a hurry without shoes and a hat this morning.

We had a sausage sizzle (I had 2) at the gym, and cakes and I did lots of running around with the other kids and a little bit of work on the bag with Mumma on front kicks and punches (only at the gym - nowhere else). We came home because I was tired and Daddy wanted to put his new frame together on his mountain bike. When we left, a really nice lady called Colleen gave me some balloons to bring home - which is cool, 'cos I lost a few to the roof and sky when we were out.

Have a great weekend, I hope you like my photos, and don't worry, it is chocolate icing and tomato sauce, not blood on my uniform! Mumma has a new gi too, it is soaking in napi-san because she did grappling in it and had to army crawl all over the place and it is all blue from the mats LOL!

MicroMe Says: I'm A Kickboxer!

Comment Published at 05:5605:5626 comments26 comments68 Visits68 VisitsReport

I want to be a kickboxer! (But ONLY at the gym).

Today I was at home sick; my GranpaPete & my UncleDrew looked after me while Mumma went to work... It was so cool, UncleDrew lets me play racing games on the computer, and Granpa is lots of fun too. I have to go to bed now 'cos it is late, but I will let Mumma fill you in! Love Jaydee xox

After 36hrs straight moving house...

A few weeks ago we got totally fed up with Sydney, the price of living, the long hours getting anywhere and the short hours enjoying life... So while we were chatting about options, I noticed this ideal job for MaxiMe online. We sent in his resume that Sunday night, and the next day they rang before he even got to work. The rest is history, after a few weeks we both gave our notice, (albeit somewhat reluctantly, as we liked our jobs), and got out of the big smoke.

Shifting was a slight nightmare, we got up at 7.30am and planned to leave later that afternoon in the truck. Luckily NannaSylv came down and whisked MicroMe away and out of the fray. UncleDrew gave up around 9pm and headed off with our car and trailer... We finally left with GranpaPete at 3am and headed up over the foggy mountains to wake NannaTerri up around 6.30am for brekkie by the fire. O'Connell was mighty cold and fresh compared to Sydney! After rallying around, we finally got the truck unloaded at 3 different destinations and back just in the nick of time. We had a break for an hour before heading out to PopCyril's 80th birthday. Needless to say we were a tad late, and a tad tired, but MicroMe was going great guns and acting like he was running the show by the time we caught up with him.

MaxiMe's job has turned out to be really good, and he is enjoying it - the pay isn't too bad considering we are in the country and not the city. We are chilling with the family until we get our acts together, which is pretty awesome, as we now get to do things TOGETHER instead of passing like ships in the night. It is way cool hanging out with Drew too, and he is being a superb Uncle to MicroMe.

We had to run MicroMe down to Sydney for his operation (hydrocele) our first week here. We were lucky that he got in early and we were out of there by lunchtime and just doing a final tidy up of our old place. He was pretty well behaved and hardly seemed bothered, just a bit tired and cranky - which was fair enough. MaxiMe was dad of the year that day and really looked after the little man well while I did a few messages and things.

The next week I planned to put my feet up and rest a bit, however we popped in to visit a mate I used to work with on the Wednesday, and on Thursday afternoon I got a call saying they needed someone to work the next Monday... I didn't think it would be possible, but by the next morning, Jaydee had picked out his daycare centre that my friend recommended, and he absolutely loves it - plus they had a place for him on the days I need to work (at about $30 a day less than the city too). So, just when I thought I was going to have to write up my resume and job hunt - I didn't have to! The job is admin, some of it is basic, but there is a lot more that I can do to make it a little more challenging - it is a fun industry, and I am enjoying it so far.

We went to a fight night in Orange the first weekend we were here, and we went and checked out May Thai, and I really enjoyed my first taste of it when we went to a session on the following Thursday - unfortunately it is just too far to travel each week. We found a local gym that does mixed martial arts, and in the past week we have been kick boxing and other stuff (like boxing, grappling and weapons). They let the 4 us (including Jaydee) join as a family, and that includes a gi and gloves too - FUN! The staff and other members are uber friendly and very good at what they train. We are also dabbling in a bit of indoor soccer with Drew's team (Princesses). It is a bit different to rugby, and they are a lot more laid back... Like until 2 weeks ago, they had never won a game, I am having slight issues reconciling with that, but it is something to do. We haven't dropped a game of rugby this season, 6 from 6 and nobody has scored against us, though we had a tough one last Saturday against Sydney Uni, we only won 12-0. I am pretty sure we defended for all but abou9t 10mins of the game, (it felt like it anyway). I didn't worry about nerves showering with the girls after the game, because we had to hurry it up when the guys 2nds came in to get ready while we were getting out of the shower - ah the good old days!

The girls got dressed up as mexicans for ladies day, but I had stuff to do, and couldn't hang around to drink up large with them, (so sad, I will make up for it). The best costume was Dal who was a human pinata and when you whacked her with a stick, lollies came out - awesome for me, as I was hungry after the game.

Well, so that is life in the country, it is more economical, we have more time, Jaydee has 5 adults at his beck and call, we both have good jobs, he loves school and we are having a ball training and playing up! Jaydee is also doing some martial arts classes, he is a little tiger and he thinks he is a kick boxer... They do some kicking, boxing and fitness, as well as learning about stranger danger and all that jazz - he goes 3 times a week. He is by far the youngest at the moment, and he struggles to pay attention sometimes, but he is soooo cute, and thinks he's the man! Too much fun and too many things going on to be on Minti, hope I haven't missed anything too exciting, will try to check around the blogs soon.

Me, my Mum Kate, my Wee Blister Salu (my fav girl in the world), my crazy Mini Me Sophie, and my very special Purple Princess Livvy.

Nothing beats sisters, and I am so glad that I have one and that she gave us these gorgeous, vibrant, funny, sporty, clever girls to carry on the next generation of fun. xox

Can of Whoopass - Warringah 49 - Bankstown 0

We are chasing that premiership cup again, and today was the opening round... Guess who opened the account for the first try of many to come for the Warringah Ratettes this year??? Yeah yeah, it was ME! Miracles don't happen every day, so I am lapping it up and living it up while I can!  It was a boiling hot day, and we made the trip out to whoop whoop, but it was worth it! I got away with just blisters on both feet and a lovely red egg in the middle of my head, (I also got the first penalty awarded in the game for a high tackle - I tried to duck under it, but ended up copping it in the head from the 2nd tackler - FUN FUN FUN!).

Afterwards the hosts kindly handed out yummo freebies from their sausage sizzle, and we headed off to laze on the hill and watch the girls play rugby league in their 9's tournament. (A few of our girls did the dash to our union game in between their games - so we went to sink a few beers and JB Colas and pay our respects). Unfortunately the girls were runners up in their tournament, the same team they lost the grand final to last year beat them (this time). I have to say thanks to MaxiMe who gave up his Thai Boxing Fitness class for me this morning so that I could play (thanx babe, you rock).

We are the best team in the comp, and after today, I am sure we are also the funniest too! We are all looking forward to lots of celebrations and lots of hard yards and fun in between. The new girls are really cool, and the girls from last year are totally awesome. I was tempted to hit out tonight and have a big one, however since MaxiMe and MicroMe are off to see the family for the weekend, I am going to live it up and have champers for dinner and a bubble bath. (We save enough water to allow this small luxury methinks!).
