Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Comment Published at 21:0221:0258 comments58 comments61 Visits61 VisitsReport

Little MicroMe has long gotten over his naughty little bug infestation, and Daddy caught him and held him down long enough to lop off some of his mop of curls too. He has been through a growth spurt, as you can see by his chubby face his picture with his Ducati (he got up to watch Casey Stoner in the GP), he knows about Ducati's Honda's Suzuki's and who rides what ; ) UncleDrew bought him a little toy red Ducati at the supermarket, and he is very proud of it.

MicroMe has learned about 'breaking water' as in the cold weather the bird feeder has iced over and he loves to throw the chunks of ice on the ground and watch them break. He has been a little disrespectful of his books and toys lately, a bit of ripping and rampaging has been going on. He also had a couple of weeks off from the gym due to illness and lack of transport; I was very disappointed last week when he hung off my leg and didn't want to do the class. I even jumped on and did Kata with the kids at the beginning of the class, with him hanging off my body, however he wouldn't let me go.

Thursday week ago was NannaSylv's birthday, and he was VERY excited about it all. We all wrapped up presents and wrote cards and surprised Nanna in the morning. The BIGGEST surprise was that MaxiMe got out of bed early and made Nanna an omelet for her breakfast. Later that night MaxiMe picked up an ice-cream cake from Annies Ice-cream Parlour, it was so yummy! It had 3 flavours and they decorated it beautifully, everyone had extra helpings. We also booked Nanna in for a massage on the Saturday, so when we were all out for the day, PapaPete gave her the gift voucher as a surprise. Nanna had meant to get lots of chores done, however she had to go and relax instead, (oh dear, poor Nanna).

We got our target (car) back on Friday night last week, just in time for me to take it on the 2hour drive to Penrith for rugby the next day. MicroMe came down and went to the bike shops with MaxiMe and UncleDrew, he was so excited, he had a great day. I can't imagine that theirs was very productive, though UncleDrew was gibbering and very happy after taking the lastest Blade for a test ride. In the meantime, we beat Penrith 60-0 and had a relaxing time at the pub afterwards ; ) We are still undefeated this year, and no points have been scored against us, so it is worth the trip, though I brought a lot of new bruises home with me. Later that night when we got home and MicroMe was settled in bed, we went out to a party... It was FREEZING, we were in a nice garage with a few heaters and a gas burner thing, and lots of alcoholic refreshment and silliness, but not enough to heat us through; winter is really here.

Poor MaxiMe has had flu-like symptoms for a few weeks, and for the past fortnight he has had tonsillitis and has been pretty sick. Drew and I went to kickboxing on Tuesday, and MaxiMe just came and did some weights and took it pretty easy. We did sparring afterwards, and it was really fun in the ring! I convinced Angela to come and spar and she whacked my bruised eye from rugby, which was a yellowy green, and turned it into bright purple and black LOL! It looks sort of like Egyptian style, and I didn't notice it until the next morning, when I was trying to wash it off. Anyway, I really enjoyed it, and I am keen for a private sparring lesson for one of my birthday presents... If MaxiMe remembers, he was well under the influence when I got him to agree on Friday night.

MicroMe is usually a very good boy, though his general attitude has been a bit out of sorts lately, he is living with 5 adults and pushing everyone's buttons and seeing who will let him away with things, (who wouldn't?). I sat down and had a chat with him about being a good boy and how important it is to use good manners and to respect his belongings, and use the potty/toilet consistently. On Thursday I finished knitting his scarf, and he is very proud of his Mumma's limited skilled creation ; ) He helped me tidy his room and do chores about the house, though it was so cold when I hung the laundry, he abandoned his bike, bolted inside and left me out in the cold alone!

We have now created the "SUPER STAR STICKER BOOK" which is MicroMe's little reward/diary book. It is better than having a chart, as we take it everywhere we go, and it means that he can have instant rewards for extra good behaviour ALL the time. Barney Bear also popped on a Bob The Builder T-shirt and accompanied us to the gym to watch MicroMe training and decide whether or not he worked hard enough to earn a sticker. Not only did he train hard, he played very nicely afterwards and earned 2 stickers. He also shared stickers with some of his little friends, while I cosied up on the couch by the fire and watched him do his thing.

On Friday we also went to NannaSylv's work and he helped Nanna hand out little posies of Daphne to her colleagues. He came into my work and he was very well behaved and got to have a cookie for his troubles. At the supermarket he was exemplary; he sat in the trolley for me for the first time in a year, and even when he pushed the trolley, he didn't try to run anyone over, (including me). He got to have a ride on the little merry go round and he was very happy to bump into some people from the gym that he knows. Once again we took the sticker book and Barney Bear watched MicroMe... Who was a little slow to get out there, however when he realised that Barney Bear was waiting for him to go and train, he couldn't get out there fast enough.

After kickboxing on Friday night, we headed out to a big bonfire out of town in this big field. It was a freezing night, but the fire was warm and this time the refreshments did the trick! It was good fun hanging around the fire, though we got home very late and yesterday was a bit of a bust! (Oops). Now we are waiting for MicroMe to wake up from his little sleep, as we have promised him a trip down to the park for being such a good boy. His little sticker book is getting very full, and everyone is having turns writing in it and helping him draw in it. There has been a small hiccup when a page got ripped, however we are hoping that ripping book pages is now a thing of the past ; )

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

i love reading your blogs Lui! they are always so busy and fun! I LOVE the pics too, keep them coming!
Firstly MicroMe's scarf is devine! I actually noticed it in the pics before I read it and was going to comment on it! You did a great job!
The sticker book sounds fantastic, we might have to think of creating something like that for Miss Caitlin, although she is a good girl she seems to have developed a habit of unloading her bookcase which I'm not too impressed with!
Congrats on your big win and I hope MaxiMe is all better soon!

LOL ditto champ!

I can't believe you have any time to read such a long blog!  Your new addition must be a very good little girl.  How are you all settling in to your bigger family life?

The sticker book is ever so fun, and I keep buying more stickers and coloured pens, all the things I (er I mean we) like ; )

Jaydee is just beautiful!  What a lucky fellow he is to have a Momma that tries to keep a step ahead of him,it's going to get harder and harder but I know you are soooo up to it!!!  Clever, clever idea there!  That is just a great move Mom!!  Too bad your moves with Jaydee attached wheren't fast enough! LOL!! Come on...wieght training thrown in for free!  Just make sure he changes legs there, can't have you all bulked up on one side only.  Take care and such a lovely blog to read.

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Good Morning Mother Nature!

Why thank you for your kind praises, he really is responding well with his sticker book.  It is so much more fun telling him what he can do to earn stickers each day, instead of having him sulking in the corner for misbehaving.  That corner is getting dusty as he has only visited it twice so far in the past week (knock on wood).

He is a very busy little man, and bedtime is starting to come earlier because of it, so we are all winning LOL.  I will not bulk up on one side only, I shifted him from side to side before I got fed up and snuggled in front of the fire to watch the rest of the class ; )

Good Morning Bel-o-rama

We try to keep life interesting.  My manky eye that was infected was the one that got blackened... Bad luck eye ; )  The scar on my eyeball is stinging today, not sure why, it's a nuisance, but I can see, which is most important.

Have a great week chickee ; )

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Stickers totally rock, so simple and fun!  I got hundreds of them the other day, and they are so cute.

Oh Jaydee would love to visit Jack, in fact, I reckon I would have a hard time getting him to come home.  I have a friend down that way, so maybe toward the end of the year instead.  I have no doubt that Jack will have a super duper awesome party, give him a BIG hug from us.

Luv ya like vino baby (and that's a lot) ME xox

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Hey Arna, not as busy as we should be... I was a bit slack with kickboxing and boxing, however I plan to get right back into it again.  It is hard to drag yourself out on really cold nights, and sometimes it's hard to leave MicroMe, however if we rush home, we still get to do the bedtime routine.

I bet you guys are glad to have finally kicked that flu, especially with Puggle's arrival just around the corner.

We were very pleased with the cake... Very pretty and girly looking in a house full of boys and boystuff.

I can see a lot of adventures happening with MicroMe, he is a real chip off the old block, (Daddy's block).

Each day he has been trying harder and harder to get more stickers... He has even been offering to put away the groceries, he is very cute.

Have a great week Annie ; )

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Yes, we were all glad that they were gone, as everyone changed all their linen etc as a precaution as the midget likes to jump in everyone's beds for snuggles.  It was a heck of a lot of washing, and all his stuff... LOL!

He was so adamant that he wanted to go to the gym, that is the annoying part, he is a bit stubborn sometimes ; )

I think NannaSylv had a very nice birthday, and we had fun making it special for her.

Yeah rugby is fun, I must get back to my coach (thanks for the reminder), there is no way I am going near Sydney this weekend (World Youth Day), I will have to confirm that.

My eye is good, his curls are still there, he either has his beanie or his bike helmet on most of the time, so they are squashed in the pictures.  Not such terrible two's we both have very little patience, however this is making us both work hard to think of ways to earn more stickers x0x0x

Your life in Bathurst seems so fulfilling.  I am so very happy for you and your crew.  What a loving environment for JD to grow up in.  That is wonderful Lui.  I do hope you and Steven are happy too.  You so deserve it.  You all look fantastic and very happy.  I am so pleased for you all.  xxoo-Angela

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Hiya, well, I can't complain, though I do worry about Sylv & Pete getting tired of us... Jaydee and Stephen aren't the tidiest, and Jaydee does more housework!  I am a girl, and they are used to boys boys boys ; )

Stephen is never happy, we better start planning our eco-friendly home and generate enough power to be in credit on the grid, as well as buy him a monster bike and get him doing muay thai for real, or he will expire from boredom ; )

Purrrrr NinjaCat

The cake was:  Chocolate; Sofala Gold (like hokey pokey); and something else???  It was meant to have rum and raisin as the Sofala Gold isn't gluten free (Drew has coeliac's) however they made a slight boo boo.  The outside was just coloured cream, it was really nice.  They make the creamiest dreamiest ice-cream on the planet.

Come and share some, maybe I'll invite Angela too ; )

 Meeoooow! xox

Thank you Na, I will pass on your message ; )

I am loving the sticker book, it is such fun.  I even bought a wee pencil case to go with it and a little carry bag so we can take it out and about easily.

Your son must have been freezing!  I was rugged up little an eskimo, and it was cold away from the fire.  At least he didn't drive, and it's good that he called you.  We also had to take NannaSylv out the next night to pick up one car and 2 motorbikes ; )

Have a great week, Lui xox

Hey mum look at this face of mine ( top right hand photo), how could i ever be acting out of sorts...hehe! The Super Star Book seems to working like a treat, what a great idea.

So hope MaxiMe recovers soon, he sure has been in the wars lately. Nana Sylv, belated bithday wishes, would have loved to be there to share in second helpings, it sure looked yummy! I bet she enjoyed her birthday pressie a massage.

Car back yippeee! Dear Lui that was not a beating of the other team, that was a thrashing, gee couldn't you at least  have let them score just once hehe!

Love all the photo's, the one with Jaydee's new scarf ( mummy made), I could just eat him....and the one with you both in the snow, can i come and play with too.

Lots of love JJ xxxx

P.S. Take care of your black eye. We recieved a lovely surprise in the mail on friday, that was just so thoughtful,  meant so much, thanks gorgeous lady.

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

I know, doesn't he look adorable when he is asleep... If only he slept more!  The book is great fun, I don't know who loves it more, me or him.

MaxiMe better recover soon, he is getting really frustrated (and frustrating) not training every day.  He has had a couple of doses of antibiotics, and a visit to the naturopath, and I am stuffing him with fresh fruit for brekkie and tons of fresh veges with his dinner.  He is also taking vitamins, and I try to give him as much TLC as possible, however I am really not that nursey type... Oooh there's an idea, maybe a nurse uniform would perk him up?!?!  ; )

I love his photos too, I will never keep up with Thuy in the photo department, but we do love our wee photo sessions... He took some lovely ones of my boots and me bending down saying, 'are you sure I am in the picture?'

The black eye looks grand, it didn't swell at all, just a lot of colour.  You got a surprise, what a surprise, I am surprised that you were surprised... LOL xox

Busy, busy as per usual!

Glad the sticker book is working, maybe i should be trying that with someone close to my heart, there are a few choice words he likes!  Although, knowing me, i'd probably forget to take it with me, maybe i should just bury myself that would be easier...lol!!  Yes, i'm raving , i know!

Looking pretty cold down your way...hey guess where we are off to in 6 weeks!.......to the snow in NZ.....whooppee!!!!!

Hmmm, you must be due for a birthday soon??  We should have a cyber cake for you...lol.....

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

The super star sticker book totally rocks!  He is so eager to get those stickers, today we even got a little Thomas pencil case to keep all the stickers and glitter pens in.  Everyone has had a turn writing in the book except Nanna today, so she read through it with him before he went to bed.

He is working so hard to earn the stickers that I went and bought 2 more books today, as he is being such a good boy.  We are having the odd tantrum once a day or so (usually right before bed), however in between, what a little gentleman we have on our hands.

Snow in NZ???  I'm a tad jealous, though I am happy to stay in one place with Jaydee for a while now that he is finally settling back into being his super good self.  Will you go to Mt Hutt or further south to my neck of the woods?

Birthday smirthday, what the heck are they ?

Re: Books; Black Eyes; Bonfires.

Come on you gotta have a birthday!

We are going to Porter Heights.  I checked out Mt Hutt but there wasn't anything to do with the baby there and it was a bit dearer in price.  Porter Heights has tabbogins, i am so looking forward to that!

We are also going to spend a few days up North too, with Davids family.  T gets to have his 4th birthday there, so i've asked Nana to organise the cake!
