After my last blog when it was like World War 3 in here,we have had quite a nice half term-YAY!!! My other half has been off work this week with a head cold-no get it right,a serious bout of flu, haha. He also had a dodgy knee-gristle gets trapped beneath his cartilage and it gives out a lot and he then can't walk properly.
My Tessie bear went for her cut and blow dry yesterday, and she hates it.She's a really shaggy dog with loads of fur and in May we always get her trimmed so we're ready for our blazing hot summer-joke!Got her clipped last year and then we got torrential downpours come June and really bad floods.Hope her getting chopped isn't an omen for bad weather.

Oh what a lovely day!!!After yesterdays drama with my dog(yesterdays blog has the info). My fishing freak partner came home from fishing early with-flu!! he also has a problem with his kneecap where the gristle in his joint goes inbetween his joints and he's in agony. So,today he's off work and the kids are on half term.At this precise moment one of the boys is on his second time out and the step parent vs child event of the day is in full throttle.Great isn't it?It's not very nice weather here today. It's raining and cold so they can't play out so it's a case of lets see who can disrupt the house the most by fighting and shouting. The one good thing thing is that my partner doesn't tolerate as much as me-hence the timeout. These are my favourite kind of days-Not!!!
Update on my dog after she nearly choked to death. She's back to normal today, stuffing her face and suchlike. Can't tell you how scary it was yesterday.Hope everyone is enjoying school hols as much as me,tee hee.

I don't really have much to 'blog' about really.Went for long walk in nearby woods yesterday and came back exhausted-had to go to bed which isn't like me at all.I slept for 3 hours when we got back!!!Lazy sod.
Anyway-my poor dog.I'm writing this basically as a warning to other dog owners .My Tess is 12 and a half now and for all the time I have had her ,if I have cooked a joint of meat with a bone I have always given it to her to chew the meat off and she has never attempted to bite the bone.Until tonight,I cooked a leg of lamb and as usual gave her the bone. There was loads of meat left on and I left her to eat it near our back door while we ate our tea. After tea one of the boys needed the loo so I went to get the bone off Tess. Then she did what she's never done and bit the bloody bone. The bone went down her throat longways and she couldn't breath. She stumbled into my garden choking and trying to get the bone out banging her head on the wall.It was terrible,my son's were crying and screaming. My hubby is at fishing all day til late.I tried to get it out but it was wedged tight in her throat.I ran to my neighbours for help. They came in and helped me.We had to use long handled pliers to get it out.Her mouth was bleeding quite a bit at the time, but it has stopped now.
I have never panicked so much.My poor dog,who has been my best friend for all these years -and I nearly killed her.She has never bitten the bone before at all so I can only presume that when I went to take it off her so my son could go to the loo,the wolf pack instinct kicked in with her.
I will never ever give my Tessie another bone again.I blogged this because a lot of people give their dogs a bone, the consequences don't bear thinking about. |

Thanks to the minti pals that answered me as regards to L.I took all advice onboard and read the advice given on the site recommended to me as regards 'natural foods'. Nearly everything that is mentioned in the website is what he eats loads of.So will take some of that on board.
Also we have decided to do punishments differently. This weekend for instance,L was grounded for being naughty at home and school. But, after reading my answers ( and having a fishing trip with my other half today and nagging his ear off about it) we have decided to do it differently. When he displays 'naughty' behaviour we are going to give him a choice-either stop the behaviour straight away or have 10 mins time out on a chair . After thinking about it and discussing it maybe we are punishing him for too long a time. The thing is though when he presents us with continual problems constantly it wears you down and you just don't know what to do for the best. So, I hope some of the ideas I have been given pay off-although if anyone has anymore-FEEL FREE!!!!
Today I have been fishing. We(my other half and I) had a really good day.Totally relaxing, warm sunshine and the birds twittering-lovely.I don't fish though,I sun worship in peace for a while.
Have a good weekend eveyone. |

I have placed a question today in Q&A about L. I did it that way because more of you may read it.I am totally desperate for help with him and need good solid advice. |

OMG it's almost a month since my last blog!!! Nothing much has really happened though and I don't want to bore everyone with nothing much to say. Well, firstly it seems highly unlikely my mum has leukeamia. The doc thinks her white blood cells are dodgy cos of her COPD. That's a big relief-fingers crossed it stays that way. Still having probs with L and his behaviour. His defiance and just a general lack of being abe to see right from wrong drives me mad. He's fishing today with his stepdad, they went at 8 this morning and don't expect them back while 10 tonight. How exciting-11 hours of fishing!!!
We have had a few days out in the last month, the Zoo,waterfalls and being in the country.I love the countryside, much better than the seaside, and generally less expensive too.
Nothing else really, it's been a bit sedentary really-which is no bad thing. Hope to blog again soon before the next month passes, you never know I might have something exciting to write about!!! |
