i know exactly how you feel. my DH is away for 1-2 weeks at a time, overseas, usually in quite dangerous areas. it's the flying that freaks me out most, but he's always fine. luckily we can MSN & webcam & he can see the kids etc on it. one great thing i've discovered when DH is away is that i get the kids into a brilliant routine, and things run a lot more smoothly. he's been doing this overseas travel for a few years now - so while it's not a big chunk at once like yours, it does add up. oooh he almost moved to china for 6 months earlier this year, but it didn't go ahead.

hang in there - great you've got family support. my family is too far away, so i usually have no-one.

i thought i was going to have a rough time with my partner going away for a month. Like you said though if you have family and friends around to help you out you know you can survive.
