This post is from from my other blog here Ok, I am a sad case, but this is how I measure my year…
It’s early in the year when Biggest Loser is on, mid year when Big Brother is on, and we’re heading toward Christmas when Aus Idol hits the screens.
What can I say? I love to watch… |

This post is from from my other blog here Well my mumspace has had a bit of a quiet weekend - its hard working at the bar all night and then trying to function during the day!
Must admit, was a terrible weekend. Friday marked 12 years since my mum died and that is always a bad day, then I had a terrible night at work with a whole heap of incrediably rude people which ended with me accidently smashing the big martini glass that one of the girls at work had bought another girl at work for her 21st. Gosh I felt terrible!
But I’m loving this latest activity on ...

This post is from from my other blog here Last night I went to a 21st birthday for someone I work with at the bar. And it was, interesting.
While at 26 I am still a bit of a spring chicken myself, there I swear I was one of only a handful of people over the age of 22. And again was also just one of a handful of people who weren’t blind drunk on redbull vodkas and champagne and jumping all over each other!
Not that that is a bad thing - a couple of years ago you wouldn’t be able to distinguish me from the rest. But while I ...

This post is from from my other blog here Noticed this morning as I was making Richie’s lunch and Charley breakfast…
I wear Richie’s pyjama pants to bed and he wears my pink and purple slipper socks around whenever he’s at home.
Right… I don’t actually know what to say about that… |

This post is from from my other blog here When I was pregnant with Charley I never considered that I would have a premmie baby. But then I got PE and she was born at 29 weeks. But even after that, beyond the NICU I never really met anyone else who had a premmie.
And then I started mumspace and met so many other women who have had premmie babies. And then I got a phone call this morning - my husband’s best friend, who was his best "woman" at our wedding just had a 27-weeker at Royal North Shore Hospital - the same hospital where I had Charley - ...

This post is from from my other blog here Well I’ve been a little quiet lately - but I have a good excuse!
You may have noticed that mumspace.net has a new homepage, which is the reason for my quiet mumspace. In designing the new homepage we have tried to give visitors some more insight into the mumspace.net community and give members a central place where they can browse the community and see what people are doing in real time.
But it hasn’t come without its problems! Most of the design etc was finished mid-last week, but then came the technical problems. And to add to the pressure we knew ...

This post is from from my other blog here So today I signed up with Fitness First at Sylvania. Even though the service there was terrible when it came to negotiating (or not negotiating) memberships, I figure that I won’t have to deal with them again and I really like the gyms facilities, so what the hell.
The good thing that has come from this is that it has given me a bit of a kick on the bum exercise wise as I have all these new facilities and classes available to me all of a sudden! So here is my new schedule:
Monday: Boxing
Tuesday: Spin class
Wednesday: Normal gym day (cardio ...

This post is from from my other blog here Yet another funny from my cousin Ang - this one had me cracking up for ages…
A man and his wife are awakened at 3 o’clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.
“Not a chance," says the husband. "It is 3 o’clock in the morning." He slams the door and returns to bed.
"Who was that?" asked the wife.
"Just some drunken guy asking for a push.
"Did you help him?" she asks.
"No, I did not. It is 3 o’clock in ...

This post is from from my other blog here This gym closing down is such a pain - you would have thought that joining another one would be easy enough, but no. The prices are pretty much doubling and every gym feels so far away, even though it only takes 15 minutes to get there.
Maybe I have been spoiled - a gym with reasonable rates two seconds up the road. And cause I had been there so long, negotiating a good rate is nothing, and I know the people and the facilities so well - argh what a nightmare!
The thing that I am finding though is that the bigger ...

This post is from from my other blog here Well today was a sad day. It almost had the same vibe as the last day of school or the last day of the year or something.
My gym closed down.
And I don’t think it was necessarily that it just closed down, but more that it was so sudden. Apparently yesterday at 4pm they announced to all the staff that today would be the last day of training. And that was that.
See the thing is that my best mate and I are there pretty much EVERY DAY. The gym was two seconds up the road and had child minding in the ...

This post is from from my other blog here Well yesterday we took Charley to see her first movie, Shrek 3. It was great. For the first half hour she was mesmerised - but maybe that was just the choc top she was munching on! She kept getting annoyed every time Shrek wasn’t in a scene and got a bit restless, but we managed to last the whole movie which was great!
At least now I know that I can take her to the movies - will be nice to go when one that she would like comes out. My little girl is growing up.

This post is from from my other blog here Now Charley has absolutely beautiful hair. It is soft and blonde and forms little ringlets at the end. I have only had it trimmed once cause it is still only about halfway down her back, and it looks so nice when it is done up.
But now it is becoming the bain of my existence and I dread the morning hair brush.
Charley screams. It doesn’t matter if her hair is completely knot free - she screams bloody murder. And she wriggles, making it near impossible to do anything. My latest trick is to do her hair while she is sitting in ...

This post is from from my other blog here Don’t you love it when you have a bit of help? Rich is on holidays for the next two weeks and even though we are going to be spending alot of that time working on the mumspace redesign, it is really nice to have him home.
But I think the best thing over the next two weeks will be that we will be able to have a family dinner. Rich usually gets home around 7:30-8 on a good night, and Charley is usually on her way to bed by then so most of the time her and I have dinner at ...

This post is from from my other blog here As a child I remember my mum sending out the ironing to get it done cause she worked full time. I also remember an ironing basket that was always full cause there was always so much ironing to be done. But now that I am the mum there is none of that.
Maybe it’s because the only thing that I believe actually needs ironing is hubbys workshirt and pants. I don’t iron t shirts or jeans or pants - they’ll fall out won’t they?
Am I the only one here? Is everyone else closet ironers? Am I just a crushed up mess?
Hmmm…. |

This post is from from my other blog here I HATE scary movies. Firstly, I can’t stand blood and gore and have nightmares if i watch it. Secondly, I don’t like things jumping out at me - I cover my eyes as soon as I hear the jumping out at me music coming on! So when my cousin emails me what I thought was a funny video, and after watching for about a minute waiting for something to happen this ghoulish looking thing jumps out at me, I wasn’t a happy camper!
Thanks heaps Ang! |

This post is from from my other blog here Winter is the pits - why is that kids are constantly sick! It seems like we just got over the last big bout of flu, but last night was a big one with Charley having a mild fever yet again and coughing all night, which meant no sleep! But of course she was fine today, despite having absolutely no sleep, and now has just gone to bed at 5:30pm - here’s hoping we are not in for another night of it! |
