From a young age I can clearly remember watching Burke’s Backyard.

Now it is 7:30 Friday night and I have just switched over to Better Homes and Gardens. I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree does it!

Got my girlfriends coming over tonight - Ness, Ang and my sister Vetty.

For years we were all pretty much inseperable, but lately cause everyone is at different life stages we haven’t seen much of each other so I am looking forward to seeing them.

I know that Ang and Ness regularly read my mumspace - so here’s to them. You’re late.

Saw the doctor today and got the go ahead health wise to try for a second baby! I’m absolutely petrified, but here we go!

Cause I am looking at having my second, I have been thinking lately about the best gap between siblings. And this afternoon, I had a little bit of a preview when I picked up my nephew from school, who is just over three years older than Charley.

Now I am not sure if it is just because they are cousins and don’t live together, but they get along really well and he is 6 and she is 3 - so maybe this will be a good gap if Charley is going on 4 when the new baby is born?

Well it seems that spring has sprung a week early and we spent lunchtime up at the park with Charley and Richie and had some lunch and a play. Spring is the best time of the year - not too hot, not too cold, perfect.

There is a woman selling the Pokemon cards that her kids keep slipping into the shopping trolley on Ebay. They are up to $142.51! Here is the description she put with it.

It is about this time each year that I start to get confused. All the Fathers’s Day advertisements start up, but when exactly is Father’s Day? Any enlightenment welcome.

I think that Charley might be scared of going to the toilet. She has sat on it heaps of times, but I don’t think she has ever done anything. They are starting to toilet train a few of the kids at preschool, and she has been happily going to the toilet with them, but when I saw her doing a poo the other day and asked her if she wanted to go to the toilet - she started screaming at me "go away!" and actually looked really scared. It’s funny - for the past year I have been so immersed in building both the community and the functionality for mumspace.net that while I have heard about and been reading about all these new innovations in social networking, I have never actually used them. So I am getting involved - first with Tangler and most recently with Pownce and now I am trying out Twitter. I don’t know how people keep up with all of this. Don’t know whether I have mentioned this before, but I am a complete Bold and the Beautiful tragic. Love it.

It’s funny though how I swing between the characters that I am rooting for. I think I am always rooting for the underdog. One minute I love Brooke, the next I hate her and want Taylor to win whichever man they are fighting over now, but for some reason I always want to see Stephanie go down.

Oo, better go, it’s on. Everybody quiet.

It’s a very quiet day on mumspace today - where is everyone I wonder? I’m a bit lonely…

I hate tax time - especially cause I tend to move house so much, I can never find all the damn receipts!

One thing that doesn’t bother me though is getting a nice return, so fingers crossed for this year!

Anyone got any good ideas for making tax time easier?

I love playing netball. I play every Thursday night in a local comp, but sometimes it gets a little out of hand.

I play goal defence, and I have been described by some of the umpires as the one of the hungriest players they have seen. I just go for everything. And sometimes I am a little rough, but I figure if I do something wrong the umpires are sure to pick me up.

This reminds me of when I was 8 years old.

Argh, today was another day where is was just hard to get and keep moving. Maybe it is cause the cold set in again, maybe I still have a bit of this bug, I’m not sure. Charley was tired and whingy today too, so no one was a happy camper.

Did manage to get all my folding done though while having a chat to my dad who popped over this morning. I like to save stuff like that for when people come over. Silly, but it doesn’t seem as painful if you do it while having a good old gasbag.

A play date that is.

It’s great now that Charley is old enough to have her little friends over for a play. Today we have her cousin Lachie over to play for a couple of hours. Most of the time I find that having another one here is actually a help rather than a hinderance, cause it keeps Charley entertained while I get the rest of my stuff done.

Of course once they start to get a little tired it gets a bit harder, and the fighting usually begins, but the best thing is that because it is a play ...

Don’t you just love grandparents. My mother in law rang me up this morning asking if she could take Charley for the night. Considering I have been sick with the flu these last couple of days, it was a godsend. And no feeling guilty for me, cause she asked me - love it!

It seems that everyone is coming down with the flu - Richie has had it, my cuz and all her family have got it, and I have just agreed to help out TV WEEK with some stories cause one of them has just gone home with it!

But whats that, oh no, I have a headache, my neck hurts, my throat stings a little and the tap in my nose is starting to drip… great.

don’t you hate it when, because it is cold, you drink a hell of a lot of tea and at the at the end of the day you realise that you have used every teaspoon in the house?

Gotta develop a system where I reuse the same teaspoon!

So today I headed into the city to give a bit of a talk to the mums participating in Bizness Babes, a program run by The Body Shop that educated mums into how to start and run a business - I was there to tell the mumspace story and how I have gotten to where I am at, and how I will keep going. Ah another Monday. Another day of catching up on everything I didn’t do on the weekend, housework, mumspace work, exercise, and most of all - sleep! Bar work does not lend itself to much sleep, so I tend to get about 5 hours over the course of a whole weekend.

Well my SIL Tanya flew in from Canada with her two little girls last week. The last time we saw her was when Charley was just born (and still in the hospital) nearly three years ago, so it was great to catch up over the weekend!

Oh dear, dare I admit it? I am seriously thinking about having another baby…

Charley is getting so big now, she is not my baby any more. And I am getting really clucky - even around pregnant people!

But I am just so scared - my pregnancy was so bad the first time around, and with Charley premmie it was a nightmare, and then she was so sick the first year… I am scared of going through this all again, and this time it would be with a three year old in tow..

When I think back to when Charley was born at 29 weeks, generally my memories were that yes it was hard, but I think I have blocked out the parts where it was really hard.
