My dancing daughter

Now I am little late with posting this, but I claim sickness… :)

Last week the parents was parents day for Charley’s dancing class, so I got to sit in and watch her.

Now she has only been doing dancing for around a month now, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but she is so good at it! She participates in the class and is learning the routine for the end of year show, and seems to really enjoy it.

I am so glad that I started her - I hope it is an interest that she will keep up. ...

I’m still here…

… just!

Argh, it seems that I just can’t get better! A week and a half of the flu and other sorted problems brought on mouth ulcers, which has now in turn caused a really bad infection in my remaining two wisdom teeth, which has floored me more than anything. The infection is so bad that they want to clear it before they take the teeth out next week - just to prolong it a little longer!

So frustrating, cause I really really want to fall pregnant, but with all this sickness "getting pregnant" is the last thing on my mind!

A bad day

Have you ever just had a bad day? I am having one of those today. A couple of reasons which I won’t elborate on, but it is pretty much just a bad day.

Not that it has all been bad - saw Charley dancing this morning which I’ll post about later, and spent the afternoon with my SIL, but can’t shake the feeling that I am having a bad day.

Not long left though… :)

International Talk Like A Pirate Day

This post is from from my other blog here

Yes me hearties it be International Talk Like A Pirate Day. I hope everyone is out celebrating.

And in celebration of the day, let us all sing the Talk Like A Prirate Day Anthem. Click here to listen to it!

"Most days are like all of the others,
Go to work, come back home, watch TV,
But, brother, if I had me druthers,
I’d chuck it and head out to sea,

For I dream of the skull and the crossbones,
I dream of the great day to come,
When I dump the mundane for the Old Spanish Main
And trade me computer for rum! ARRR!

    T’ me,
    Yo, ...

joke for the day

This post is from from my other blog here

A woman went to a pet shop & immediately spotted a large, beautiful parrot.

There was a sign on the cage that said $50.00.

"Why so little?" she asked the pet store owner.

The owner looked at her and said, "Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of
prostitution, and sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff."

The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird anyway.

She took it home and hung the bird’s cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something.

The bird looked around the room, then ...

A trip to Symbio

by madmadmummyComment Published at 03:5203:520 comments0 comments0 Visits0 VisitsReport
This post is from from my other blog here

So today we went to Symbio Wildlife Gardens with my SIL Tanya who is over from Canada and her two girls, Kiera and Siarah.

It was a lovely day - beautiful Spring weather, not too hot, not too cold. And I really loved the park. Small enough that you could get everywhere easily, but big enough that it had plenty to see. And you actually got to get up really close and personal with the animals. The girls got to pat a koala, litterally cuddle a kangaroo, and spent a part of lunch time chasing a peacock around! I even bent ...

Telling the tale

by madmadmummyComment Published at 03:4503:450 comments0 comments0 Visits0 VisitsReport
This post is from from my other blog here

This is a great idea from bbanne’s mumspace. It is a project where readers of your blog add sentences to a tale and see where it goes. So I am adding my bit and lets see if we can make it take off!

Here is the way it works.

1. Copy these instructions and the following paragraph into a post on your blog.

2. Read the story so far and add your sentence to it. It must make sense because this will eventually be a real story.

3. Add your blog link to the links listed. Every time a new sentence and blog link ...

School friends

This post is from from my other blog here

It’s been about 10 years since I was at school, and I dont really keep in touch with any of my friends there, except one, Karyna, who I went and had coffee with today.

It was great catching up,which we tend to try and do every couple of months or so. I love having a friend like that who I have known since I was in primary school, even if she did try and steal my year six boyfriend. I am pretty sure that I told everyone that she stuffed her bra in year 8, so we are pretty even don’t ...

jammie day

Spent a lazy Sunday today - everyone in their jammies all day. Even Charley. :) Outside wouldn’t make up its mind, sunny then raining then sunny then raining, so we decided that inside was the place to stay. Loved it. :)

This post is from from my other blog here

I am right into lovely smelling candles for the house at the moment - I am not a big candle fan, but I just love making the house smell nice. At the moment I am burning some incense, but am hunting around for some really yummy smelling candles that I can use on a daily basis. My cousin actually has one called fresh linen that is just devine, but I haven’t been able to hunt down where she got it from.

I have come across some, particularly at Dusk, but haven’t been able to justify the cost for a smelly candle. ...

Ah, afternoon sleep…

by madmadmummyComment Published at 04:4904:490 comments0 comments0 Visits0 VisitsReport
This post is from from my other blog here

I had forgotten. Forgotten what it was like when Charley used to have a day sleep - bliss.

She got up at like 6:30 this morning after not much sleep, and I knew she would have to come to netball with me tonight, so a sleep was imperative. I stuck to my guns, and probably thanks a bit to the cold, dark weather, she went to sleep about 2:30.

And slept till 5. It was so nice. I watched a couple of episodes of Sex and the City, watched my Bold in peace, and think I even had a little snooze. And ...

Argh, APEC

This post is from from my other blog here

I think that I have said this before, but isn’t it sad when you realise you are cursing public holidays?!

All day I have been going through my to-do list, marking things to do on Friday, which is usually another Charley free day for me.

And then I am reminded - APEC public holiday on Friday. So I will be working at the bar, which will be good money, but we will earn it. What else will Cronulla do, especially since you can’t go to the city?!

Who the hell do these world leaders think they are! Closing down the city. The funniest ...

An odd spot indeed

Has anyone ever seen the little trivia "odd spots" on the Libra panty liner wrapping? Check some of these out…

Every year, the Moon moves a further 3.82cm from the Earth

The Eiffel Tower has 1792 steps.

If you attempted to count the stars in a galazy at a rate of one every second it would take around 3000 years to count them all.

Just 20 seconds worth of fuel remained when Apollo 11’s lunar module landed on the moon.

The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows.

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.

Animals that lay eggs don’t have belly buttons.

Slugs have four noses.

Flamingos are pink ...

"My tummy hurts". Interpretation, I am about to projectile vomit all over you. And vomit she did. About 3 or 4 great big yacks that saw us scrounging to find jammies that still fit her. :)

Looks like it is gastro season in Aus - I am hoping that that was it for Charley as besides being a bit tired, she was fine today. And here’s hoping I’m not up for another dose of the bug!

A genuine sickie

This post is from from my other blog here

Well you might be wondering why I am blogging on a Sunday night - shouldn’t I be at work?

Well I chucked a sickie. A genuine sickie though, as my ankles are really playing up today and sending shooting pain up my legs, so standing behind a packed bar for 8 hours wouldn’t be such a good idea.

So why do I still feel guilty even though I am genuinely unwell? Does anyone else get this?

Does mean that I got to catch Next Top Model and Idol - much to Richie’s delight! (yea right!)

A lovely Father’s Day

This post is from from my other blog here

Well here’s hoping that everyone had a nice Father’s Day - was certainly lovely weather for it in Sydney.

We had a lovely day - Charley and I got up early to give Richie his gift, and even though we are all a bit sick here, we had the fam over for lunch, which was really nice. I love family days like that - it’s great to just feel comfortable.

My brother and sisters and I reminisced on the old handball days in the backyard - I am still the handball champion - I even remembered the old moves! Gotta love that ...
