I could be setting myself up for a fall here, but hopefully not!! my lo is teething and the only thing that really sooths him when it hurts (which is only occasionally, he's very good really) is his dummy.
Even though he goes to bite things, he doesn't really like to when it's in his mouth, he normally falls to sleep after his milk but now will only fall to sleep on me!! (this is the worry, now he won't fall asleep unless he's being cuddled, i suppose to comfort him.)
I know only too well that this can cause problems later on, but it's so so hard to hear your baby cry and see his little tears and know he will stop if you hold him in your arms, it really pulls at your heart strings.
The other thing i've been finding latley is he is more restless at night now he's teething he wakes without fail around 2/3am then again around 6am but i always try and get him back to sleep until 7am which is sometimes difficult.
It does worry me being a first time parent, as you know what you should do, but putting it into practice when there little faces are looking up at you or they are crying their heart out how can you not respond!? I just really hope it all works out right in the end.
What i'm finding really hard is entertaining him during the day as he hates me not being in the room, which makes it difficult to do anything. And when i have days were i feel tired i also feel guilty as i'm not talking or playing with him as much (you can't win!!!) BUT I LOVE HIM SO MUCH IT HURTS. |
