Morning!

Ha,yesterday I sat and mocked the snow gods. Is that all you got? Is this really the hyped up storm? Well this is just a humble scattering,an attempt at a storm. I thought the snow gods were worn and old as their display of power was very weak last year leaving us with a no snow Christmas. I remember that from the hospital window, how bleak everything looked, grey and cold and no snow, rather sad. I thought it was just cause I was trapped, hooked up and unable to make a run for it but I'm sure it was the lack of snow. If it's this cold, snow just makes it right. It's fresh and wonderful and so beautiful. So I sit here and see that the trick to get lots of beautiful flakes filling the sky is to tempt the gods, mock their powers and like spoiled children they'll do their worst! The sky is white with a slight touch of grey, the ground white and swirling with the wind, the air is white with flakes filling the spaces!!! The wind changes the direction of the fall and every so often the swirls are like waves in the air. The view blocks at this window with white and the wind is forcing the snow through the screens and cracks. My trees are blowing hard, doing their dance in the winds to avoid the capture of the snow but it is all useless as the amount coming down can't be avoided.  Thank you snow gods, good to see you still have your power in this world and that it has not been depleted.

Re: Morning!
Nothing like snow, it is mystical, magical, marvelous stuff!  It matters not how often you see it, every year, that first drop makes you all sort of excited and jumpy inside.  It is something I miss very much since being in Australia... Enjoy!

Gee, Marg....Steve just read in the newspaper, that it was -10 in Toronto in the day & -14 over night....that's cold enough to freeze the what'isssssss off! I'm so glad you are enjoying it....it sure is fresh!!! The sun is shining here & it's about 26 degree's.... with a southerly breeze....just right.

Re: Morning!
Yup!! And we were out in it for hours! It's great! I shoveled about two feet from between the cars and then went to the back and it had drifted against the back door so I started shovelling there. Took a lot to uncover the back area and get to the wood...really needed a fire last night to take off the cold and damp! That report didn't mention the wind chill which took it down again!

Re: Morning!

That sounds soooo beautiful!!! Do you think that you could send the snow god down to Oz? Just for one year? Please? I dont know which gods we should be praying to, perhaps the get rid of the fly god, or the keep the water in the pool cold god, or the keep it below 40deg on christmas day god!!!

It sounds like you're going to have a very pretty Christmas! Hope it is wonderful!

40!!! Hummm,I'd be praying to the keep me in a frig god!!!! Really!! At 35 this year and keeping to helping the plant with no air-con rule,I was thinking about doing that!  It is wonderfully beautiful this morning with the branches full of snow and several feet of snow on the ground, the banks around the driveway are huge!!! Now this is neat!!! I love snow!

Re: Morning!

isn't it beautiful in the snow??

it sounds silly, but when i'm at work and we're out starting a helicopter, the wind from the blades makes the snow swirl and dance all over the ground. it's almost hypnotizing! (btw, not the best place to get hypnotized, under the spinning blades of a helocopter! lol)

I hope you're getting excited for christmas!

i'm pretty sure that my christmas is going to suck, but i'm doing my best for lily to have a good one...

dave and i have broken up. forever, for real, unless he gets a job here by friday (which is when i go to toronto to spend christmas with HIS family) then we're done.

its sucky... but lily's getting really excited at the lights and stuff.. i don't think she really gets the whole thing at all, but it should still be fun for her!

Re: Morning!

OH!!! So neat, right up my interests, tools and helicopters!!! When the heck is the Canadian government springing for new helicopters????? The mighty Sea Kings are 50 years old are they not???

I don't understand what's going on with you and Dave but I am so sorry. Have you set a deadline and he's not co-operating? That's men for you, challenge them and they get all kid-like on you. In fact kids are better, they see a challenge as that and usually will go for it. Works on my Hubby though !! LOL!!! That's how I got him to be ready in time yesterday, told him he wouldn't be!!! So I'm going to hope friday,he has a job.  If he's smart and wants a beautiful family he better have a job!

Lily will have a blast! You are going to get this storm so I hope you have supplies to not have to venture out for a day or two! We just dug out!  Happy Christmas to her,and you,and good thoughts for friday.
