35

Comment Published at 05:1805:1842 comments42 comments69 Visits69 VisitsReport

Well here it is Sunday morning and the day is well started. The sun is out and starting to heat,so an other hot day ahead.  The skies are blue and everything is glistening in the morning light ,the greens seem brighter and the air fresher. I love the starts of the mornings.  I love to see the birds and of course the growing rabbit clan.  I miss our chipmunks though!!  I wonder where they are?

It's really hard to not think back today.  We are married 35 years today.  Most of you that will read this aren't even 35 years old. 35 years, seems soooo long, seems so short.  We are aging together,he getting grey while I am still young....LOL!!!  O.K. ....I'm old as the hills and some days you really feel it. I have gotten unbelieveably wide. Oh dear....you travel through it all and you see things and are confronted by challenges...so many challenges!  You do tend to look back, these occasions are made for that,to take stock ,to reflect.  We never had things easy at all and we struggled. The struggle is either done together or it drives you apart but that is a choice you make.  You do without and try to not compare your life with others or you let it nag away at you.  You decide that your joy is where you find it or you listen to negative factors that can rob your joy.  You go through many stages and grow apart, grow back together on a different plain or resign to breaking that what you found in each other and leave.  I can talk about parting because if you are not aware you do part.  It's wether it's worth the work to not totally part.  Raising kiddies is tough, drains your energy, money, time and sanity...try a house with 5 teenagers...if you're sane after that you can live through anything.  But they are your best work, your very best to set into this world.  We all struggle to do better for our children than what we knew.

So 35 years ago this darling, wonderful, giving man took me on. Haa,haa little did he know what he was in for!  We faced the first day of our marriage in a life and death situation being hit by a hit and run driver. We never got a honeymoon.  After all the stuff we have faced and been through I would still love a honeymoon with this special man of mine!

Re: 35

WOW

I am so truly happy for you . . 35 years is a HUGE achievement and it shows your love and loyalty to each other . . How so very romantic and so truly special . . .

Hubby and I will join you in another 25 years . . We have been married for 10 and have yet to have a argument. We believe the strength of marriage is your ability to be able to communicate as you and your hubby obviously know only to well . . .

I am so happy for you and I'd also like to thank you on behalf of ALL the younger ones out there for the great example that you have set for those to come after you both . . ..

Re: 35

Wow,Kellzacar,no arguing... now that's an achievement!!  What a wonderful skill to have to take over to all areas of your life. Communicating makes the world go round and being able to do that can be wonderous! Took us a long time to do that well and even now it sometimes flares!  Of course can be interesting at times to cause a fuss but you never want to be unfair or hurt your hubby's feelings.  Thank you so much for the well wishes and you should be proud of 10 years and no arguing, not many have that!

Re: 35

CONGRATULATIONS to you both on 35 years of happy marriage, and I hope you have many more years. You can't beat a happy marriage we have been married 47 years and I always thought those who celebrate their golden wedding were OLD people but I have changed my mind as I don't feel old. Of course the children soon remind you don't they?

When I told Daniel on one of my birthdays how old I was he said "Caw Nan I thought people that age were dead" That's my Daniel!!!!!!!!

Re: 35

Pauline , that's because we have old kids...don't know how that happened cause we are soooo young!!!  Mystery, like some sort of reversed aging to have kids older than us!!!  Make sure Daniel doesn't go into the greeting card business!  Thanks for the lovely wish and may you celebrate your golden and have yet an other 50!

Hello Janice!!!  How are you dear Lady?? Feeling a little stronger I hope!  Thank you ,I think Australia would be so perfect for so many reasons!!  Honeymoon, sight seeing,  moving in with unexpecting friends...never to leave....!!!!  LOL!!  We fixed ourselves a lovely supper after going out to poke about.  We both could feel better but Hubby won't mention how he is feeling.  I miss you and hope the poor little mousy is not crying any more...you should show him the wondderful trip photos!!! Re: 35

What a beautiful blog Marg...............Marrigaes are a lot of work but they are so rewarding too. To have that one special person who knows and understands you better than anyone else and all without saying a word. The struggles seem to make it all worth it though don't though, because for every struggle there are many more special moments.

Here's to many more wonderful years.
