Now is that a word? Bloggy? I do feel bloggy but I have nothing to write about!!! I have meet some new and lovely Ladies here and so look forward to learning more about them. I went to my very first yard sale and heee, heee went to the sale of the lady that commented on my raking... didn't feel a whole lot of love there!!! LOL!!! Cool would more be the word. Hubby and I strolled down the streets near us as they held their annual everyone drag their junk out sale, there had to be at least 30 houses joining in. Did not find a thing! Good! Too much junk here anyway so an other's man's junk was not my treasure!
We have opened and cleaned the pool readying for the upcoming baby shower, cleaned a bit but no where near enough! I got too much sun working away outside and yes my dearest Ozzy Nature Buddy 75 is hot! I have one chair recovered and lost interest so I have to get back at that! Geees, I feel like I would actually like to be a slacker. I wonder if that is a lagitamat hobby? Oh so much to do and so little energy to get it all done. Every time I go out the blasted hedge stares at me. Well Marg, today? Today you trim me up? No, hedge... might disrupt the nesting birds (best excuse I can think of!) . And being just a hedge he can argue no further.
I did see my Sean! :) . Total joy! We cooked a meal and played and he showed off his skills. He loves playing to a crowd. The walking is what is being featured now! He does the stand up, sit down and steadies himself for the big feature! Out go the little hands and he tight fists the hands and steps! The little face is surprised and pleased and his emotions flash to the face! I just love that little face and the eyes! He was laughing so hard and running with little control! Delight in it's self to see the little legs flying and the stiff little arms willing more speed! His Daddy scoops him up and says, Wooo there little man walk before this running thing. No Sean, hit everything running. Make your life one of excitement and daring and pleasure. You may fall once or twice but the ride is worth it. |

Some times, just sometimes, people get on your nerves. Really they do, they can, and good grief, who stops to comment on other peoples work??? Well actually I have done that...hummm coming to think of it and believing in fessing up!!! But always to be positive and acknowlegde a good job done. Haaa, haaa, an older Lady, yes they do come slightly older than me, stopped to say I hadn't raked much, had not got much done!!! Fine! I know, I don't need to be reminded, stupid body has had too much to cope with and at least I am out here doing it.. although too slowly for this Ladies liking. Sized her up. Yup, totally could take her! Could have her pinned in two seconds! Haaa, haaa, instead I said with finger pointing to the sky.. Ahhhh but it is not the quantity but the quality of the job!!! She looked shocked at my dramatic response and I could see her rethink her abruptness. I then pointed out my four full barrels and the fine job I was doing!!! Haaa, haaa, take that!!! Comment on my lack of work...as if! I do have pride in my work... just wish I ever got paid for my work. Yaaaa, yaaa, satisfation in the job,but really rather have money. I got the pool opened and my feeties in!! Yah! Come on, heat up! Well not to much!!! The powers that be so smiled on us. Last year was the worst pool opening ever with large planters and 50 pound weights to be fished out and that was not easy. The dirt from the planters and the effort was extreme to get it up and running. This year was lovely! The water was already at the top of the pool so this is the first time ever we have not had to add water. The weights and stuff had to be lifted and put away and the tarp folded. Enough effort was expended but it looks so much better now. And I know as soon as we get the water reasonable, above freezing I get to go in!!! I do wait until it is at least 70 now, use to go in for years at 55 degrees. The weekend ended with a afternoon visit from our little ray of sunshine, our adorable beam of light! Sean! Sean who loves this big white Teddy bear, looks for little turtle and is quiet pleased with himself for his toddling walk! He has hand gestures to explain himself and loves his Grandpa so much! They were playing chase! Grandpa chasing him with toy snail and Sean bringing it back to Grandpaw to do it again! He loves to sit at the table with us for the meal of roast beef, potatoes and peas. He had his first gravy!!! Loved that! He loves the routine of the toy basket there for him and waits to see the trees in Grandma's living room and the things in the kitchen window. I did the strangest thing. Everyone that comes in here raises an eyebrow at me. LOL, LOL! Yup! But do I care? Not really, totally worth it! I replaced some of my chandiler bulbs with the large bubble christmas lights. The one that have a base and a glass tube that bubbles when it heats. Only half of them though! One is yellow, one red, and one blue! Sean loves them! What more of a reason could you need? |

Got a list. Long list it is too! Things that need done, doing, need to be accomplished. List is tooooo long, much toooo long. No where on this list is fun. I have not penciled in fun! What! No fun for me until I get all this blasted work done. Poo. Am I too old to throw a temper tantrum? Works for the wee ones, grant you I am not wee, or cute, probably get carted away. Well that would solve the list problem. The gardens, lawn, that 10 foot hedge. All crying out for attention. The pool, sorting the shed...arggggg. Then there is the basement and crawl space, out of sight out of mind??? Then there is the shower!!! Yes a shower for my gentle and beautiful daughter. What better way to celebrate the coming of this first little one ? I do love parties and any reason to gather but holy smokes! The list stands at 50. 50? 50 people here? No. They will bring their kiddies and others. Gee, panic. As you know I can do panic really well. Trouble is panic freezes you. So here I sit saying 50? 50? 50? Stuck!!!! 50? Oh still stuck. Arggggg. How the blazes do I feed that many? The weather better be good so outside can be used. Menu is floating about in my head and thinging speciality sandwiches, cakes, pies??? Arggg, I go back to arrgggg. I desided that the weather will co-operate and I have started to refurbish the patio set. Amazing how things just fall to bits after 20 odd years. Poor patio set! I have started making the cushions so it will be nice enought to sit some people outside. That is a gentle request to Mother Nature. I can decorate, now that's fun, so yes I can find my fun. Making a party for my lovely sweet daughter is fun. Baby clothing , now that is fun and baby things are sooo much fun! I know, I am Grandma!!! I am going to be Grandma again!!! That is the best fun ever, now get to work and stop stalling! |

Well because I had decided to venture far and wide i didn't bake this Easter. My week at my daughters had tired me out and the usual goodies of cookies, pies and tarts were not here... so how come no one missed them??? That's what I want to know! Humph! I did get off line with a certain lovely Lady in time to put a cake together but one fresh cake is not really baking. I made a vanilla wet cake and iced it with miles of chocolate cheese icing... the best part! LOL!!! Oh, I always state the menu so turkey (did turn out golden and very good!), stuffing that daughter said was better than usual, cranberry sauce, gravy, whipped potatoes, peas, broccoli, corn and before we put out fruit trays and chocolate...who got into that??? I wonder? Daughter found these wonderful little chocolates that she brought along with the tons of fruit and they were sooo good! I put out candies and chips too so we had everything ready to go and the family arrived! Our plans changed last minute as we added a few more. We had a couple that their kiddies are far away and they needed company and a dear older man that this was his first Easter without his wife. Pulled the table out big and angled it so we could fit every one! That was a challenge. Then couldn't find my napkins! I know they are here some where! So maybe by Christmas I'll find these really cute Easter chick napkins. My daughter bought these wee little napkins!!! Heee, heee, oh well! Then we seated and found that the ever late, by an hour and half (that's why it was a pleasant surprise that the turkey was still moist!) , son and dil had forgotten Seans boaster seat! Being one year old, it is kinda neccessary! So we rigged a chair( running out of chairs!) and he sat between Grandpa and his Dad. From the other end all I could see was the top of Sean's head... from the eyeballs up and the little hands reaching up for the food! Cute, had me laughing! That boy loves to eat! We had a merry time and chatted and the company was great and we had fun! Coffee's, tea's, cake served and the evening got on until the groups left. Sean was cuddled and played with and Easter was wonderful. So Saturday was special and we entertained on Sunday and I do love Holidays. Now to get back to work and when is the next Holiday???? May you have spent time with your true blessings! Wishing you the best! |

Shock! I went I did! I left home and hearth and my dear Hubby and travelled! Sounds so daring! LOL!!! Well for little old me it was! I was tense and almost thinking of stupid excuses to avoid the adventure! See, other than many death defying hospital stays I have never been away without Hubby! Sad really when you think of it! I love adventures and desided it was time! Not that I was anything but taken care of! And not with strangers at all! I travelled to the west over three hours with my lovely daughter and SIL. We just made the trip home today, daughter and I!!! I got to help with the coming baby's room, I painted! I got to make up some furniture for the little one coming! I got to go with my dear daughter to the doc's for a check up and to her first birthing class! SIL could not get out of work and I was glad he couldn't cause I got to go! What a neat thing, all these young beautiful ladies, all with their "others" and all having their first child. Very special time in young people's lives and how special to have these groups were fears and likenesses can be talked about. How different than when I had my kiddies. The Hubby's were there, great improvement! The woman talked about everything, much better than my time! The guys were included and amazingly took part willingly! It was fun! I got to help out and do a few things around the house but the neatest thing was our walk! Through their town is a huge major river and pathes and parks line it! Heaven! Pure heaven to walk in the very first spring like day along this walking path and see the river and birds and trees about to leaf out! There were small wild flowers out in brilliant blue. I saw cardinals, robins, Canadian geese and trumpeter swans. I noticed slate juncos that are on their way through as well as quite a few finches that will head further south too. It is so very strange to see my baby with child. Odd actually. I felt the baby move and can hardly wait for this new little life to be cherished and loved. They have the crib and stroller, it makes it seem so much more real! Of course my beautiful daughters roundness is real! Ahhh, quite the week, but good to be home. Hubby was glad to see me and that is good!!! LOL!!! |

I played in a park! With my Hubby and a one year old! What perfect fun! We travelled across that big old 401 and I was so focused on getting to see our Grandson that it didn't seem as crowded or icky!!! LOL! In fact Hubby mentioned it first! Lanes and lanes of tight packed cars as far as you could see going west and east. We were headed west...Jess lives to the east ..wish we could go that way!
We came with supper to cook and the guard knows us now! He must think we are some hire service! Cheffies will travel or something! At least this time I didn't insist on taking my pots!!! LOL!!! Menu.... roasted ham, asparagus steamed, baby peas and the most wonderful breads! The one was topped with poppy, slight garlic, grilled onion and sesame, the other a cheese bread! Soooo good! haaa, haa and so bought at this great little bakery we have found.
I gave Sean a little soft cute cow I had found and his Mommy said....do you see the toys he has motioning at the living room covered. Grandma said yah....pulling the Grandma thing!!! LOL! This Grandma thing is soooooooo great!!! Love it! But this one is from me...batting the eyes! I have found Grandma's can get away with so much! Really is neat!
We took Sean out for a big walk. He loves pointing things out, birds and people, cars! But he loves little people his size and dogs! We stopped at the park and wow, I love parks! There was the usual kiddies about, the older boys running in packs and the parents out with their kiddies. The older boys had baking soda and vinagar ...ahhh the wonders of older kiddies! The parents were mad at them. Oh heavens. They were mixing it in plastic bottles and pitching it into the soccer fields. They were delighted with the explosions! The one parent called the cops, not speaking to the boys but just upset. I thought, well they are launching them were no one is and they are going to get in such trouble. So I said to them as they passed congratulating themselves on the last launch, ahhh science... quite the experiment. They laughed and the one ran to the others and said.. we are doing science! That made them look at me, taking their focus off the events at hand and then they noticed the angry looks! Off they scurried.
We played on the swings, slide and the big music section was a hit! They have everything in this park! The metal tubes are strung on chains and Sean loved making them ring. His excitement was huge and so was ours at seeing him play! After supper which Sean ate like crazy we played more! Played all sorts of neat things and it was kind of nice to see he likes his birthday gift from us! It is amazing to see him put things together and react to things. Grandpaw delighted him in playing spin with a huge soft block. He belly laughed and got the idea of he threw it to Grandpaw, Grandpaw spun it for him!!! He was so delightful!! Well both Grandpaw and Sean were delightful!!!
On the drive home the sun started to set and we chatted about our big play day. So nice to have Sean. I can relate to him so well. I'm tired from my playday and I look forward to more.
