Thought I was being far too happy and confident this week.  Should have known that when my hoover broke it was an omen of things to come.  My mum just rang me today and was really upset because my dad is in a lot of pain, the doctor says it's just arthritis and has given him very strong painkillers.  However, this had made my dad realise it's maybe time to stop working (he is 75 years old).  Not sure how this will affect my family financially or otherwise only time will tell.  The doctor says he doesn't need a hip replacement even though that is where the pain is worse.  Does anybody know much about this?  I'd appreciate any advice.  Hope  you are all ok and happy halloween.

Never thought I'd hear myself say I love Mondays.  But feeling great at the moment, the sun is out and the boys are back at school.  Getting my housework done, slowly, lol.  Bumped into a friend of mine at school and her half term was a lot worse than mine because she hurt her leg quite badly before she was due to go on holiday.  Anyway looking forward now and can't wait till Wed when hubby is back, really miss giving him all the gossip.  Find the worst time is weekends and evenings when he's away because I'm so used to him being there.  But at least I have you guys to chat to when he's not here and no one to nag me if I spend too much time on Minti.  Hope you are all having good Mondays too.

Hi all

Not having the best Sunday thought I would get a lie in with the clocks going back one hour, but Daniel fell out of bed last night and spent the rest of the night complaining that his foot hurt.  He has got a history of being a bit of a drama queen so waited till 7am this morning before taking him to A&E because I was starting to doubt myself.  However as soon as we got there he was fine, the sobbing stopped and he wanted to play???????? Anyway nurse checked him out and I decided not to wait the 3 hours for a doctor and took him home he is fine now, but I'm not. lol.  I'm home alone now as husband left to go to Belgium this morning and won't be back till Thur, so I'll be practicing the single mum routine.  At least Alex has stopped being sick now so there is hope that my cloud has got a silver lining.  Enough of my whineing I'm going to have a bath and see if my mood improves.  See you all later.

Can't believe what a week this has been.  Daniel was ill on Monday when I was supposed to be meeting a friend for her daughters birthday and now Alex is ill today when I have organised for a friend to come over and play. Ahhhh! why does everything have to be so complicated.  Anyway just wanted to say a special thanks to all my friends out there that have helped me get through this week.  Love you all Maria xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I know I'm probably being pathetic, but I just feel like having a tantrum.  First day of the school holidays and Daniel is ill and there is someone drilling a great big hole right outside my house.  I really wanted to go out to the cinema today but now I'm stuck at home bored out of my skull.  Can't do anything cause Jon's asleep because he was out till late last night and I'm on doctor/nurse duty.  Sorry just needed to get that out, don't really expect any sympathy cause I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who are probably having a worse time than me. 

Just a quick update, I'm losing my voice at the moment due to a throat infection, however I'm sure this will please my hubby.   Can't even shout at the kids, it just comes out as a squeak.  Oh well got work tomorrow hopefully they'll let me go home if I can't speak to the customers. I can live in hope.  Alex my eldest got stung four times by a queen bee at school yesterday, he is normally petrified of bees, wasps any flying insects but after this experience he seemed strangely calm.  He told me it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be.  What a brave boy.  As for the youngest, he's driving me round the bend, he keeps asking me if he can go to other kids houses after school and no matter how many times I tell him it's not that simple he has to be invited first he still does the same thing everytime I go to pick him up, it's really embrassing.  Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Not doing much today, spent most of my time on Minti, Hooray. 

Hubby and eldest (Alex) were ill over the weekend so did my doctor/nurse routine.  Now I'm ill there's no one here to look after me! 

Oh well got my ironing done that one thing ticked off my to do list.  Only one more week till school holidays, can't wait, I think? 

Just wondering how long it will be before the boredom drives me crazy.  To all stay at home mums out there how do you cope?

What do I do about admin functions, not sure I'm the best person to make judgement calls on other people's advice.  Would anyone be upset if I didn't get involved?  Kinda like things the way they are having my friends there to support me if I'm having a bad day and knowing that you are all listening.  For me that is what Minti is really about and to be honest I am not the best for keeping up with everyone, most of the time I'm running around like a headless chicken at home, and I don't get much time to go on the computer.  Still love you all. 

Spoke to Emmie last night she has managed to get a BT landline connected but still no internet connection.  She really needs to get back on to Minti cause she needs to vent, so be prepared.   Going to meet an old and loyal friend today so looking forward to spending time with her and doing some shopping, my idea of heaven.

Hi online friends

Boiler is fixed working perfectly house is like a sauna.  The man that came round was so nice it was so reassuring to not have someone mess you about.  And I got a phone call from work they need me to go in today.  Yay more money to put towards Xmas.  Feeling on top of the world today even though car not fixed I have hubbys one to use because he travels by train to work.  Hope this feeling lasts all day, it's very rare. 

Well just a quick update.  No work this week just as well as I have got a cold again.  My car is leaking water and my central heating is not working as well as it should.  Other than that I'm having a great week.  Sorry not very good at sarcasm.  If anyone out there has taken the anti depressant Fluxotine would you know if you feel sick first thing in the morning or is it just me.  Hope you are all well.  Look forward to hearing from you if you are out there.
