Hi there everyone. I am Marina and have been leaving in Australia since 1998. it means about 10 years now.
Before coming here I lived in Vienna, Austria for about seven years, because of the Civil War in my country, called now former Yugoslavia. I do not like Civil wars or any kind of wars. Why do we need them? It destroys a lot. Man get uprooted. I learned German from scratch and it was not easy. Guten Morgen. My two girls attended primary school there to Grade 3 and 4, and then we moved to Geelong looking to better life. Yes, I delivered the son in Vienna, but he is not German. They do not give you citizenship if you are born there. My kids now are age 20, 18 and 13. They do not know how happy they are being here. Their life is much easier than mine. Thats' normal, isn't it?
We live now in Brisbane. Some are leaving home, and I do feel what an empty nest mean. I enjoyed so much my children when they have been little and listened to me. Now no one cares about what I have to say. Everything is changing. I needed to be very flexible all my life. Moving to other contries, changing countries, cities, jobs, friends... way of life....
