A quick statement about privacy on Minti

Comment Published at 23:4723:4740 comments40 comments191 Visits191 VisitsReport

Normally I would not comment on speculation about how Minti's founders and member-support staff go about our business but I really feel I must respond to a malicious set of messages which are currently being sent around Minti.  A member has sent me a copy of one of these messages which is why I am writing this.

Firstly we do NOT read your private minti-mails.

A member who was recently removed from our site claims that we did this when in actual fact the message she had sent was forwarded on to us.

For those who have had communications with Clay, Rachel, Izzy or myself over the past 3 years that we have been running this website, I ask you to really carefully consider how we conducted ourselves in each instance and ask yourself whether you think we really are the type of people who would go through other persons private messages - I assure you that we are NOT the type of people who would do this.

It is quite normal for someone who has been removed from this site to be upset and angry at us, but in truth this person had a very great many warnings about her behaviour, and particularly about her actions to undermine the level of respect the team here at Minti work so hard to earn from each of you.

Please do NOT believe these claims if you see them; and please do not perpetuate them.

If you want to move on from Minti we are sorry to lose you, but please do not stay and make false claims about the behaviour of the team who are working very hard to keep this site available and fun for all.

all the best

Matt

PS I hate having to write this kind of stuff

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

I happen to know for a fact that the rumors are indeed true! Yes, and furthermore i have video proof that Minti administrators sneak into my bedroom at night and implant thoughts in my brain.

ps

They also like to eat all the chocolate in my apartment too. Petty thieves....

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

I do get why you wrte this but the fact still remains that zzzzzz  was kicked off for something that was said in a private email. its not zzzzz  fault that the email ended up in the wrong hands yet she was punished for it. zzzzzz knows who the member was that was sent the email becuase the new member wrongly thought that the member in question was minti admin. The fact that this member shared the email is wrong.

I think its sad that she was kicked off, she was a great member and she was there for many many members, she offered support and guidance to many whom needed it and it you had a problem she would always listen even when she couldnt help. minti could use more members like her. yes she reffered to admin in her email because she said that admin can't do anything about the content in private groups and what is said in them and its sad that she was kicked off for what was said in one email and without knowing the full story admin were quick to assume she was doing wrong.

anyway its all mute now because she doesnt want to come back to minti. she has her own site which is going extremely well and whilst she doesn't regret her time here and all the great friends she has made she does regret the way certain issues on this site were handled. and as she used to say SMILE its a new day

I think you guys are awesome.  I do think that you handle these types of things extremely well and with dignity and I trust you guys to do the best for this community.  As you say people are often too angry to think straight when they are removed from the site and they are understandably upset.  I do just ignore most of this stuff though.

Again Admin I think that you are really great and that this is a really good website for the parent community!!

wow, how clueless am i? i never thought things like this happen on this site?? Any way I like to say a JOB WELL DONE,to all of the minti admin ppl. I guess it is not as easy as people think running a site like this, as well as keeping everyone happy/ and in order... i have to say this site is great for mums/dads to be able to have a chat pretty much about everything, which is real nice. p.s keep up the gd work and have a merry xmas as I will. :) luv abs

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

sad you had to write it, even sadder that members could be so misled by a "friend" and to believe it.  it is a shame. she was a pied piper and unfortunately, some enjoyed the tune she played too much and couldn't or wouldn't see the truth.

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

Pied piper not!!!! She is what people would call a true friend never lie or cheat. If she has  something to say to someone she will say ity never hides it from anyone. She was kicked of for petty thing that was sent to wrong person she then did send messages of apoligies to everyone but where did that get her no where here. But it did get her somewhere  else. Her very own place for her and her true friends.........

The pied piper had mice after him she had true friends to help her get where she is today and she is alot better since not being on here with all the bs and lies that go on in the private groups.................

She was a member who helped everyone and never put anyone down like they did and still continue to do even though she is no longer here!! Leave her alone and as  for her friends she knows they are true friends she diod not lie to anyone at all. Peer pressure from a cetrtain group or person i think is the real reason she was kicked off!!!!!!

Really unfair that it has to be said in the first place.  I think this should also be posted in the Bulletin Board group too for maximum coverage.

You know we appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes, it helps us to keep some of our sanity after all.

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

i never believed it, i thought it was a stupid accusation but i think it was created to get ppl to mistrust minti so they would join a new site seeing as though theyve been inviting ppl to the site thru mintimail with that accusation in it.

hope it all goes away minti is a great place

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

How would you know about the minti mails that are going through about a new site?????????? and that their are accusations in it? Have you yourself read the minti mail or even received it to know exactly what is in it?? I guess not as you most likely are not on the list to be  al;llowed on to the site or whatever it may be?   If you do not have the proof of any of this then i think you should get it all right before you accuse a member of sending mmail via minti  to the site.. This all needs to stop it has gone on for way too long now just let it be over. People need to move on and stop slandering or putting said member down after all this time.. She is a true friend and would never lie to amyone not even to the people whom do not likw her only because she says what she wants and when she wants.. She is straight to the point not like some people who lie then send a message to apoligise for lying in a private group not too long ago. They are the ones you should be watching leave said member out of any of the bs that goes on. I too know who starts alot of the stories and liers about some members that are not true they just cannot handle being told the truth and that is all it boils down too. They try to get members kicked off just for being opebn and honest about alot of things why are some people adament atr causing trouble, Matthew i apoligise but this needs to be said.

Show the truth of what you have written if you have proof

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

Happy NEARLY Christmas Matthew... I hate reading it, because you shouldn't be in a position where you feel you have to write it.  That being said, it is great that you have cleared it up and quite frankly, it is your site, I wouldn't care if you guys did read our minti mail, run it however you like.

The person sending out that propoganda should be ashamed of herself for perpetuating the myth and stop biting the hand that feeds them... Or in this case provides them with an outlet online for sharing, helping and making friends with others.

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

Kinda pathetic that you had to write this really. I don't even have time to read all my own mail! Forget the inclination, how on earth can anyone realistically think any member of Admin could have time to do that sort of thing? Oh yeah, that's right, you're not expected to have a life are you! Gees!

I tried to get said member to seriously consider the concept that the mail had been forwarded to Admin when teh story first started, but she couldn't accept that someone might do that. Silly really.

Sad to hear that people are still copping BS over it all. Hope it all goes away soon... but then, it's human nature to want to blame everyone else and conspiracy theories are always rampant the world over because if it, so I'm not going to hold my breath, just curious as to what the next one will be.

I want to thank you for this. I was under the idea that you would randomly check email and after being told by that member that hers was read and it wasnt that person forwarding (which is what I thought).

I have to agree that all this negitivity of late is so annoying, But I am glad most of it has stopped. Hopefully in time and once it has had time to settle Minti will once again be a very happy and positive place.

Re: A quick statement about privacy on Minti

What a ridiculous accusation! Who on earth would be stupid enough to believe you guys would even have time to read everyone's private mail, never mind whether you would have the inclination?! And really, I'm sure most people's private correspondance would be pretty boring to anyone outside their own private circle. Who would waste their time wading through hundreds or thousands of private messages? It totally defies any kind of logic.

I'm sure most people feel as I do, that you guys do a terrific job and have set up a truly wonderful website, and that you run it with integrity and for the benefit of us all.

Not nice to write...  Not much fun to read either...  I'm kind of sick of all the negativity around at the moment and how it is affecting lovely people - like yourselves.  I do my best to avoid it, but it is obviously still going on and that is annoying for every body.  Thanks for reassuring everybody, I hope it settles down soon...
