Hi There, My name is Chelsea, and i am so hopeless at writing these type of things. I will just tell you the basics, and if by some lucky chance i make a few new friends from this site, we can find out the rest about each other as we go along:) I am 27yrs old. I am married to Ross, who is hopeless and wonderful all at the same time. We went to highschool together, so it''s kind of funny that we ended up getting married. We have a son, Max, who's turning two in November. We also have another baby boy Harry, who was just born on the 3rd of Octoboer. It''s a very exciting time for us........... I''m looking forward to talking to lots of other women on this site, and hopefully making a few friends who can share advice and steer me in the right direction when i feel like i''m losing the plot. hahahaha. Cheers, Chelsea. xoxo |

So, i was silly enough to ask the question in the Q&A section about why would you pierce your baby's ears. And i have to say that i was shocked by some of the responses. I was expecting a mature response, from parents who had pierced their childrens ears at a very young age. I was expecting to hear reasons relating to religion, or culture, or something other than "CAUSE I'M HER MOTHER!!". so fricken what!! Being a mother does not give you the right to make decisions about every thing. Are you seriously telling me that when your daughter comes home one day and tells you she's pregnant, that you can tell her to get rid of the baby? It's her body, it's her decision. Just because you are her mother, doesn't make you god. I agree entirely that when it comes to their well being, you should have the say. But do earrings really have anything to do with their health or well being. And if you are all so adamant that you are allowed your own opinion about this issue, then why aren't I!?!?!?! I'm sorry if upset people by saying that i was against putting holes in young children just cause you think it looks cute, but that's MY opinion. And for all of you out there that said if the girls don't like it when they get older and have the option to take the earrings out - did you ever think about this? That when they are old enough to go in and get them pierced themselves, if they still really want it done, then they can do that too. I'm going to stop ranting now, cause i could go on for ages. I can't even explain why this issue has upset me so much, i just think it's totally barbaric. I'm sure if anyone actually stumbles onto this and reads it, that i'll be in trouble again with what seems like a bulk of the minti community, but this is my home page and i'll write what i damn well like.

Hey All,

Just wanted to write to you all, and say i hope you all had a great day and got spoiled rotten!! I had a busy day, but am looking forward to doing a whole lot of nothing tonight. I'm taking max for his 18mth needles tomorrow, and it's one of my most hated jobs. He's never had a bad reaction to needles yet, and actually, usually he just sleeps for ages afterwards. But he's not been quite himself lately, and i'm hoping it's just teething and nothing more sinister that is making him a bit grumpy.... I'll let you know how it all goes.
Have a relaxing night,
Love Chelsea. xoxo |
