Swimming

Comment Published at 22:0222:021 comments1 comments8 Visits8 VisitsReport
This post is from from my other blog here

Sometimes Daddy takes the kids swimming. We prefer the beach but the pool is closer. We are having some warmer weather so J and I came along.

This was J's first time in the pool. He was weary at first but once in he was content.

Av has great water confidence, putting his head and face under the water, which is something the big kids still struggle to do.
The three big kids want to have swimming lessons now, just for fun. The two eldest have been to lessons through the school before.

Re: Swimming

How far away is your swimming pool to you? Ours is about 20 minutes walk down the road, at the Leisure Centre. They also have the gym and the basket ball/net ball courts there.

Looks like an indoor one. yes? Ours is, but it has a huge roller door that opens up to let the outside in on good days.

How much is it to swim there? Ours is $4 for the family, but Michael and I don't have the stamina to stay for more than an hour or so so we don't go very often. and all the natural swimming holes are nearly an hour away, and as petrol is an issue, we don't go much, rather choosing to inflate the kiddi pool in the back yard.

We joined the children up for swim lessons, too, but since the renovations money has been a bit elusive, and as the lessons are nearly $10 per child we are still trying to get organized so they can go again - The Centre does it in courses of 10 weeks, and we've missed two in a row now,  but fingers crossed for the next one! Do you have swim lessons?
