It's a wrap

by mcmComment Published at 00:4700:4718 comments18 comments53 Visits53 VisitsReport

I have been wanting a wrap for carrying bubby. I am not sure I can justify the one I really want so thought I could make one and see how we like it. I bought some fabric from Savers for $8 and made 3! One was enjoyed by my little boy as he covered himself in it!

Its a no sew wrap and the fabric is some kind of polyester. Probably not as good as cotton or a woven wrap but it seems fine. It should be ideal for the warmer weather as it has holes in it. Similar to the shorts some runners wear -my son wears them for school.

I have been looking at youtube for how to wrap different ways. Because J is a newborn with limited head control but is BIG its a matter of seeing what works for us. As he gets bigger,or should I say older, and stronger I can try different carries and ways to wrap.

Consumption Challenge continues

by mcmComment Published at 22:1122:110 comments0 comments15 Visits15 VisitsReport

Been decluttering a lot in the past few weeks. I really enjoy having the minimal of things. Continuing the consumption challenge and getting more serious about it. We have things we need and we work towards it. The big one is a family car to fit us all! We have had clothes given to us which is helful. Apart from underwear and shoes I think second hand is the way to go. I did buy the boys shoes on sale today. My eldest boy in particular is in desperate need for a new pair of shoes.

Hot Hot Hot!

by mcmComment Published at 21:5121:514 comments4 comments22 Visits22 VisitsReport

We are having another hot day here in Melbourne. (The City known for its four seasons in one day).

I wish my husband had cleaned the pool so we could swim. But its fine we have a wonderful air conditioner.

J is enjoying naked time so we took the opportunity to measure him.

60cm in length. 40cm head circumference. 11cm foot.

Lucky 7

by mcmComment Published at 00:4700:476 comments6 comments31 Visits31 VisitsReport

My littliest boy is now 7 weeks and doing extremely well. He is getting very chubby thanks to Mama's milk, cuddles and slumber! He wears mostly size zero. He has a long body like his siblings yet has lovely rolls like his sister. He is definitely my biggest baby. He is heavy to carry already. I use the Ergo. I love how he falls asleep on me. So content, he smiles and likes keeping an eye on me when I am not holding him.

We had success with EC today. He was crying as I was changing his nappy. I held him over the toilet as he wee-ed twice and pooped thrice. He seemed grateful and content afterwards. Who wants a dirty nappy?

He tries to crawl but just with his legs so he doesn't get very far! He is strong.

Adored by his siblings, today was the only time his brother harmed him. I was feeding with my eldest and my middle boy hovering over (as usual!) Bub was crying and I couldn't work out why til I saw someone's mouth on bub's leg. His brother was biting his leg. Why I do not know. I talked to him about it and he said he doesn't want to stop kissing him. He usually showers bub with slobbery kisses. Which of course has given him the snuffles. Apart from that his health is fantastic.

My son turned 3 on Sunday (2nd November 2008).

He chose where we had dinner then we had cake at his Nan's place.

He loved us singing Happy Birthday to him. He sang too!

Its so wonderful seeing how big my boy is now he is no longer my baby.

Happy Happy Halloween

by mcmComment Published at 21:3121:311 comments1 comments8 Visits8 VisitsReport

I took the little boys to a Halloween party the day before Halloween.

It was nice especially with the hostess going to so much trouble with baked goodies and decorations.

The kids were dressed up in costumes. My boys were little rockstars!
