5th of jan

by meltingmomentComment Published at 00:3900:390 comments0 comments46 Visits46 VisitsReport

Well, I had the embryo transer on X-mas Eve.  My embryologist said that I had lovely looking embryos. Now I wait until the 5th of Jan for a blood test to confirm whether the transfer was successful.

We had a quiet X-mas here with just the 3 of us. One of my brothers and his wife, with my parents, are holidaying in Hong Kong and my other 2 brothers live in Melbourne.  Thus the move to Melbourne to be closer to family.  We should find out whether the finance has been approved by the purchasers bank tomorrow.  Then we can get the ball rolling.  I just feel like nothing is getting done!

Early Start

Have to arrive at the fertility clinic tomorrow - by  9am -  for the embryo transfer at 10am.   I dont know why I have to be an hour early unless I have to fill out more paper work.  I hope there isn't a long delay like there was last time I was there -  my doctor was over an hour late, so I was waiting over 2 hours, dressed in one of those scantily clad hospital gowns with the bum showing.  Lovely!!!  I guess I'll know in a week or so from tomorrow,  whether or not it will have been successful.  Fingers crossed.

Embryo Transfer

by meltingmomentComment Published at 20:5720:570 comments0 comments54 Visits54 VisitsReport
Well, my blood test from yesterday was much better, and will now be having my embryo transfer on Sunday - Xmas Eve.   That works out quite well as Andrew can stay at home and mind Sophie.  I thought it would occur during the week and then Andrew would have had to take a day off work.  But this result is better.  I have my fingers crossed that all goes well, otherwise its back to square once next month with all the blood tests.  I bought a pregnancy test kit today, which I hate having to do as people stare at you wondering what you have been up to.  But I'll be able to cheat and test meself early to see if the transfer was successful.  Being a nurse, I usually get my blood tested at work,  but I haven't been working the past couple of weeks as Andrew has been on call to go offshore for work.

Frustrating

by meltingmomentComment Published at 16:3716:370 comments0 comments39 Visits39 VisitsReport

After learning yesterday that this months cycle of IVF may be scrapped, as they are closed over Christmas, I'm really annoyed and frustrated.  I've had 7 blood tests in the last week and a half,  and it could be all for nothing.  I'm a late ovulater and I'm sure they should have known that from my last treatment, so I dont know why they didn't tell me that this month wouldn't be the best month to start again in.  I'll have to see what the blood test from this morning shows.  It took them 3 attempts to get my blood this morning.  Not my idea of fun.

Other than that I have to start ringing around for removailst quotes.  I dont want to leave everything to the last minute, which is most likely what my partner Andrew wants to do.  He seems to think that things will fall into place.  But this time we are moving interstate, not from one suburb to another.    I really dont know how it is all going to work out.  Andrew works in oil and gas and will be away for 3 weeks in February.  Our settlement date is the 16th, so he wont even be around for it.  I'll have to get my parents to fly over from Tasmania to help me out.

IVF

by meltingmomentComment Published at 03:2503:250 comments0 comments47 Visits47 VisitsReport
Day 16 of my cycle and another trip to the phlembotomist for a blood test.  This is my second time around for IVF.  I am unable to conceive the normal way due to blocked tubes ( unknown cause ).  I was successful with my first cycle 25 months ago..... they say not to expect such a good result this time around.  My poor arms are bruised and battered as my veins are not overly great, and thus they take several attempts to get a sample.  But if it results in a second child for me, it will all be worth it.    Will keep you up to date on how things go.  Being kept busy with a 16 month old who is teething and into everything.  She has become a bonjela addict!!!!
