I would never have guessed that lol

I am currently a member of HarperCollins Publishing book review group and I have just read a preview copy of: Beneath the Bleeding by Val McDermid.
This book is the next installment of Wire in the Blood (if they convert it into a new series), featuring Dr Tony Hill and DCI Carol Jordan.

Here is a the review I just left on the website:
"Val McDermind really delivers with this book.
With just the right amount of sexually tension between the two main characters, the racial tensions of our modern era and the need to have what our neighbour has.
The story lines were believable and wove a complex plot, but at the same time it was easy to follow the characters paths.
The use of rich language was a pleasant surprise (and had me reaching for a dictionary).
The opening chapter set the tone and added to the books fast paced atmosphere.
I am a fan of the tv series Wire in The Blood and this book was every bit as good as watching it. A truly remarkable credit to the author for keeping it's integrity from book to tv screen.
I could not put this book down and have not read such a suspenseful book in quite a while.
