Me and My Family

[see all me and my family]

well what to say?  My name is Kate In our family there are 6 members. Me (30) Gary (39) Jadein (11) Cooper(9) Reily (deceased) and  Kalani (18 weeks)

I am a stay at home mum and Gary is a security guard. We have been together for 12 years and he is my rock.  I love to spend time with my family and friends. Our life is hectic as most familes are but wouln't have it any other way. I am amzed at how much the kids grow and change  from day to day.

Jadein is a very smart and loving child. He has a huge heart and likes to help others. If anyone is hurt Jadein is there to fix them up and make them feel better. Jadein earned the nickname bear as he loves bearhugs. Jadein has just be diaganoised with TSplus so that can be challanging.

Cooper is a very headstrong little boy and he is always right, (so he thinks lol). He loves to help others and has the nick name fingers and de-struct-a-con in our family, Ever since he could move he has found a way to get into mischef and still does. He has a few medical problems that certainly keeps us on our toes.

Reily is our little Angel and was born sleeping on 26th July 2007. He is always in our hearts. He has the nickname Angelboy

Kalani is a wonderful baby who is very calm. Not much to say about Kalani just yet. She is a joy to our family and makes as all smile. She has huge eyes and when she is awake you can see how courious she is. Kalani has been in a huge hurry to get into this world ever since she was 26wks gestation. She hurried into the world 5 weeks early and is just thriving for a premmie bub. Kalani's ...

planceta previa

Comment Published at 22:3922:393 comments3 comments85 Visits85 VisitsReport

I was 14 weeks pregnant with our 4th child and went for routine ultrasound and found out that I had Placenta Previa. At 26 weeks I went into labour but thankfully that was stopped. Again at 28 weeks I went into labour this time I was transferred to Royal Womens Hospital at Randiwick and was put on bed rest. At 32 weeks I was allowed to come back to my home town (Nowra) and was on weekly visits to my Gyno. He had schelduded me in for a C section  at 38 weeks. At 35 weeks I was in town and I heomarraged serverly. Kalani was born 35 minutes later via a emergency C section. I lost 500-700mls of blood and it took about 3 hours to get me to come around. Anyhow  Kalani weighed in at a healthy 2505grms or 5 pounds 8 ounces (which I have been told is a good weight for a 5 wk premmie bub) This happened on Wednesday and after a few hours in the special care nursery she was allowed to come and stay in the room with me. The next day the midwives noticed her bsl were low (2) so they placed a tube in Kalani's nose to hep her. On Saturday everything was great so they sent us home.

Now 7 wks later Kalani is thriving and thankfully I am still able to breastfeed. After everything we went through it has been well worth it.

If anyone else has had a similar experience or a prem bub I would love to hear about it.

Thanks

Kate
