I was 14 weeks pregnant with our 4th child and went for routine ultrasound and found out that I had Placenta Previa. At 26 weeks I went into labour but thankfully that was stopped. Again at 28 weeks I went into labour this time I was transferred to Royal Womens Hospital at Randiwick and was put on bed rest. At 32 weeks I was allowed to come back to my home town (Nowra) and was on weekly visits to my Gyno. He had schelduded me in for a C section at 38 weeks. At 35 weeks I was in town and I heomarraged serverly. Kalani was born 35 minutes later via a emergency C section. I lost 500-700mls of blood and it took about 3 hours to get me to come around. Anyhow Kalani weighed in at a healthy 2505grms or 5 pounds 8 ounces (which I have been told is a good weight for a 5 wk premmie bub) This happened on Wednesday and after a few hours in the special care nursery she was allowed to come and stay in the room with me. The next day the midwives noticed her bsl were low (2) so they placed a tube in Kalani's nose to hep her. On Saturday everything was great so they sent us home.
Now 7 wks later Kalani is thriving and thankfully I am still able to breastfeed. After everything we went through it has been well worth it.
If anyone else has had a similar experience or a prem bub I would love to hear about it.
Thanks
