I have to tell you such a funny story!  I recently purchased a Fischer Price Little People Nativity set.. SO CUTE!!  Well, about 3 days ago I unwrapped it and got it out for Blake, our 2 year old son, to play with.  He loves it! On top of the manger there is a button that you push to play "away in a manger".  Just soo cute..   

Anyway, yesterday morning, we were lazing in bed still, we hear Blake flush the toilet in the hall bathroom.  Roger, my husband, went out to see what he was doing... I thought he was done with playing with the toilet at that point.  Roger came in to take his shower, then I heard the toilet again!  I went in, to find Blake excited about something to do with the toilet as he was pointing to it.  I went over, and lifted the lid to find and angel and a wise man... still swirling around! LOL.. I scolded him for putting things in the toilet then went to look for any pieces missing. 

!!  Baby Jesus was MISSING  !!    I looked around in a panic... " Blake!  Did you flush Baby Jesus!!??"    "I fwushed da Baby Jesus." He said calmly.  GASP!! My Brand new set!!  He flushed Baby Jesus!!  The star of the Nativity!!  What was I to do!!??    Not really believeing him..in hopes he didn't really do it... "Blake.. where is Baby Jesus??"..." I fwushed baby Jesus."   "Blake.. show mommy where baby Jesus is... take me to him."  He takes me to the bathroom.."I fwushed baby Jesus."  

Well.. that was that.  I kept having a feeling I'd find it and not to be upset, so I went to EBay to look for a replacment.  Told my kids what had happened.  We had a great laugh about it all day!  I never got mad at Blake for flushing baby Jesus.. I just had a feeling I shouldn't.  (Not just for the obvious reasons)  It was kind of funny anyway!!   

So guess what I found this morning.. under my blanket beside my bed!!  Yes.. Baby Jesus!  As soon as Blake got up.. I showed him.  He had a HUGE smile..so cute.  I said.."look Blake, Baby Jesus!"  He said.."I fwushed Baby Jesus."  What a card!    Immediatly I thought of how.. even unintentionally, parents can "lead" a child to say something that wasn't true.  I can see how ME asking Blake if he flushed Baby Jesus, put that in his mind, and from then out, that's what he stuck by!!  Even when I had the evidence right there in front of him..he kept saying that!  That was an eye opener!  

So.. there is my funny story!!  This Was going to be the year we remembered that Blake flushed Baby Jesus.. Now it will be the year we Thought he did!!!  Just so comical!!   I hope everyone enjoyed our story!! It's a true one..just happened yesterday! Yes.. I am trying to remember how to do this with my little boy who is almost 2 1/2.  I'll be searching all the blogs out there!

 Well.. Way back when I entered my cry for help in this area.. just after ,that is.. I was inspired by my 20 year old daughter.."Hey Mom..just do what you did with me! Put him in the corner!"... Guess what! It works!!  He still hits.. he is a boy you know...but he does NOT like the corner! And he does settle down. 

When he has served his time..he comes out and says sorry to who ever he was hitting..or if he's just being naughty.. like "sorry Nikki (the cat)" Sorry Mommy".. and giveshugs. This is also what I taught him.

He is only two.... normally it is said to keept hem in as long as there age is.. but I just put him there.. make him keep his arms to his sides and he has to keep his nose in the corner until he settles down..then I count out loud to 10.  That's it! It's a great tool.. Oh yeah.. while he's in there, I talk to him telling him what he did that was wrong and that he can't do that anymore.
