MoonShadow & Family

Comment Published at 16:4216:425 comments5 comments461 Visits461 VisitsReport

Thank you to everyone who has read about my family, and for your responces, I aprechate it greatly :-), I would also like to add 3 additions to my every growing family, I'am now a great Aunt of 3 boys, all born in  2006. My husband and I are the very proud God Parent's to one of them.( another to be born in 2007, maybe twins!.
I think its time for me to build that family tree, before this history of our family is forgotten.

It took me a couple of days to figure out what to write about, and I decided to tell about my family and myself, this is a long read, enjoy...

I can honestly say I am and have an interesting and wonderful life.
I come from a large family 1 sister 3 brothers,  I’m the youngest by 9 years, My siblings were grown up and moved out by the age of 7, I learned what’s it was like to have brothers and a sister and be like an only child.
Through many years in grade 3-8 my friend and I would help look after the disabled children in wheel chair, read stories to the grade 1&2 children and kindergarten children, we would put on little plays and skits, and some times assist the teachers with art classes, trips and other thing of that nature, I am always surprised, thinking back, that she and I had time to attend our class! LOL, in the later years we were joined by two other friend who also helped with the disabled children and some times assist the teachers, and to this day we all remain close friends, and if you have ever seen the movie Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, that will certainly be us.

For the longest time everyone we knew thought my one friend and I would be teachers, she became a counselor for troubled children, I by trade became a hairstylist, but ended after a severe allergic reaction to many of the chemicals used. I now design web pages, help woman and some men who have been emotionally and physically abused by their partner, I also help them with understanding and coping with their children, this is not done professionally, I am a spiritual healer a title given to me by the elders of my Native American Indian tribe, (I am 3 quarters Apache Indian) and was given the name MoonShadow. I have a number of hobbies including bead work, art suck as painting and pencil drawing, phototragraphy, other craft work and wrighting, and a useless vast knowledge of animals, and bugs because I love nature, and have taught my own children as well as my nesses and nephews to respect all living things.
I became an Aunt at 9 years old, I was so excited! and was the first one to hold my nephew, besides his parents, sure I had been around babies before, but it's different when its your own family. I felt more like a big sister, I was feeding, changing, and in house baby sitting, I seen him take his first steps and allot of his firsts. By the time he was 1 years old I had a neese and another nephew, once they started they didn’t stop! LOL
my first nesses adored me, and I her, I am her God Mother after all. at the age of 13, a few more had come along, a total so far of 5, 4 boys and my neese, I had 4 kids following me around and a baby, not much time for the baby, I was watching the other 4, but I managed to spend time with all of them, having the advantage of live in the country on a quiet dirt road, I could take them all for walks and the baby in a stroller.

At 13 years old there were 2 more, now there’s 7, 6 boys and my niece, 1 baby 6 toddlers, this is when a baseball team should have been started, but instead, I decided to teach them the fine art of water balloon fighting, and of course I was the target, my sister would get into the game, it stopped when my now X-sister in law got wet when her daughter, my niece, hit her with a water balloon, she was the un-wanted sister in law, who at every chance would ,) find fault or just be me mean to me, every chance she could, She was married to my oldest brother, and growing up he and I were great friends, I realized she was jealous, and tried not to wrinkle feathers, but in this particular case, she screamed at the top of her lungs at my little niece, I should mention my other sister in law had gotten wet too, was having a great time, we liked her very much, and always treated me with love and kindness, and was a wonderful mother.
as I was saying, after this X sister in law screamed at MY niece, my niece started to cry, I was so mad, so being the out spoken person I am I said to her  " What is your problem!?" picking up my niece wiping away her little tears, " she only wanted to play with you!!" she went on and on about her clothes, who care about clothes, they'll dry, then she started mouthing off about how it was all my fault, and it was because we were all having a great time, I had to be careful because she would punish the family by not brining the kids to visit, but enough was enough, I told her off, every thing and any thing I could think of to put her in her place, it ended when my father spoke up, well after that they went home and we didn’t see the kids for 2 months. I was praised by the rest of my family for putting her in her place; I remember thinking how lucky she was my other sister-in-law didn’t knock her block off.

Lets jump ahead a few years there now is 1 more, now at the standing number of 8, yup you guessed it, 7 boys and my niece, another baby boy, my nesse who by now has a little brother, and 4 little boy monsters, the 4 boys were always and I mean always full of misschuff, and this was the only thing they had in common, one of them the terror of the group, every second word out of his mouth was a cuss word, it wasn’t funny, especially in public, I refused to take him any ware, and I hated to be that way about it, but he would not do what he was told, so I would find other ways of occupying them. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love all of them even the little black sheep, and I did miss taking them every ware with me, I was so very proud of them all, and of course I like to show them off. .LOL...
My sister would call them my little pets, If I was going out to hang out with my friends, and any of them were there, oh how they would cry, I would feel so bad...LOL, they were always good at laying on the guilt trips, even to this day when they call me Auntie, I know they want some thing...LOL

Now today, I have 3 children of my own 2 girls and 1 boy, and a total of 17 nesses and nephews, I have only 2 blood nesses, but when you come into my family with children by blood or not, they too become family and besides we had to do some thing about the number of boys who are all but 1 related by blood, there is a total including my son there are 11, all girls including mine 8,
my friend all have children too...all boys!! 2 of them have 2 boys the other 3 boys and is expecting again, she's hoping for a girl, my girls are to old to care what she has, by the end of this year all my children will be teenagers, and so far.........it’s been pretty smooth sailing with them.
I can't explain how lucky I feel to have such great kids of my own, I can only say " Thank You" to my family for giving me the unforgettable chance of being an Aunt at a young age, I learned trial and error because of my many nephews and nesses, and still love them all.
Oh, if you would like to know, "yes" so far the babies have stopped coming, the youngest is 4 years old, but I have become a Grate Aunt of 1 and 2 more on the way. At only 32, I’m excited, and feel pretty darn old* LOL…….

Thank you for taking the time to dive into my life and experiences*
Many Blessing
MoonShadow
