What is happening to me????????????

Comment Published at 22:2722:2710 comments10 comments95 Visits95 VisitsReport
I just found myself ironing nappies!
me - Iron!
Haydon and I had been together for about 6 months when he asked me if I actually owned an iron. Not that I wear wrinkled clothes - I buy non iron stuff put it through on a slow spin and hang it on coat hangers on the line to avoid needing to iron.
I am rather domestically challenged and figure life is too short to spend ironing so I avoid it whenever possible.
Today I needed to get the nappies dry so I had to resort to ironing them.
Haydon has been complaining that he was really looking forward to me getting the 'nesting instinct' during my pregnancy but it never happened. Ripped off! Maybe the sight of me ironing nappies will help ease the pain.

I would do this when I was a first time mum...I think back and laugh.....

Now I use my iron as a laundry ornament....

I just thought it was great that someone uses cloth nappies. I was starting to loose faith that anyone did anymore....hmmm, matey tell me they were cloth nappies.....

LOL
If they were disposable they would be all over the iron!. Yes they were cloth. I am not quite that far gone. Thank you for the laugh, I really needed it today.

You gotta do what you gotta do
I think this has more to say about the need for dry diapers than the fact that you're ironing.  You don't ever want to run out of those.  But, hey, strange things do happen on lack of sleep and hormones going crazy.

It will stop!!!

With my first boy, I did the same I became a mad woman with the cleaning and ironing, my SIL came over one day and I was ironing, she started to laugh and said oh are you serious..... I was ironing my hubbies undies!!!! She then said I went through that but believe me you will get over it!!! and yes I did.  Its funny what hormones and a little baby does to our minds.  Hope your enjoying your beautiful little bundle of joy xx

We are definitely enjoying her but to be honest we are both disappointed that I didn't get hit by the cleaning bug! I need it!
Guess I had better try to get back into the Fly lady routines. I had to stop them in late pregnancy. I haven't ironed Haydon's undies - yet , but I did iron Natalya's singlets - just to get them dry.

When the bug hits you can you send some of its effects my way???  I could do with that kind of bug in my system....LOL.  Cleaning and keeping house habitable is one thing - keeping it above par with everything else going on - I struggle with that bit.  So please share....I will appreciate it, and so will E.  She loves to clean.
Peace

Kim

We were visiting my auntie when Sam and Matt were about 8 years old - my auntie was ironing and Sam looked at her and said "what's that?"

Hugs
