Haydon got a text from his brother yesterday to say that they are expecting their first baby at the end of May. Quite exciting really, the two cousins will be 5 months apart. Unfortunately with the distance between Western Australia and New Zealand they will probably only get to meet about once a year when we head back to see Haydon's family.
Haydon asked if it was planned - the reply was something like "shit happens but it's all good". Guess Haydon is the only one of the 3 boys who managed to plan his timing for fatherhood.
We already have our tickets booked to take our baby to meet Haydon's mum in March so we will miss out on meeting the other new arrival this time. Haydon couldn't get holidays in April and he was not prepared to wait any longer to introduce his child to his mum.
It will be the first time he has seen her since last October. His mum has not seen him since his operations last year. Each time she talks to me on the phone she asks if he has had any seizures. So far I have been able to honestly say that he hasn't and things are going really well.
One of my good friends is ringing me tomorrow. She gets back from 6 years in Poland just after midnight tonight. I can't wait until she calls but I had better let her call when she has had a chance to sleep. We are going to see them this weekend.
Today I ordered the intro to modern cloth pack agethat mcm recommended. I am quite excited to have a look at it all. Haydon just says - lets use the good old fashioned much cheaper cloth fold them yourself nappies but he was ok with me ordering the pack. |
