Natalya had a better day today

Comment Published at 06:4006:407 comments7 comments13 Visits13 VisitsReport
She was a lot happier during the day but I couldn't get her to sleep properly during the day. She wouldn't sit in her stroller for long when we went out so I ended up carrying her in the babybjorn harness.
This evening she screamed again but Haydon took care of her while I cooked dinner.
We have my mother and 5 year old niece staying with us and invited another friend to join us. I cooked garlic prawns. Natalya fell asleep just before we started eating until just after I served dessert.
I really hope she is in a good mood tomorrow. At the mothers group we are all taking along cameras and stuff we think will make good props for baby photos. I hope I will get to take some photos of my smiling baby!

How did Natalya?
Hi Jen
Mum and Joanna have gone home now. They were here for two days. I got some photos of Natalya at mothers group today and then she got cranky. At the end after it was all packed up she got happy again!
I have just fed her and told her it is time for a sleep. She is in her cot - lets hope she sleeps!
love
Kim
PS. How is Matt going?

How did Natalya?

I hope that Natalya had a sleep for you.

Matt's doing ok - I think he is enjoying the school holidays just for a break from all the testing that was happening last term.  He has still been seeing his OT but other than that has been having a total break.

We have a meeting with the school and his OT and the Educational Pysch on the Thursday when school goes back so hopefully we might have some answers then.

I am still trying to get my head around how as really involved parents who were at the school having meetings with the teachers two or three times a term we could now be in the situation that we are in and them saying that they don't know if he can go to high school next year.

Will let you know how are meeting gets on.

Hugs

Jen

PS:  How is Haydons health going?

That must be really hard on all of you. I know how hands on you both are with your kids. Have admired you both for it for years.
It must be hard on both Sam and Matt being twins and one doing well and one not doing so well at school. Difficult for both in different ways.
Haydon took his last epilepsy medication on Monday night!
He has been seizure free since mid January last year and now medication free for nearly two days. How is that for amazing!
Natalya didn't sleep for long but I have just fed her again and put her down again for a nap. fingers crossed

Kim

That is fantastic news about Haydon - I will keep everything crossed that his good health continues.

At the moment I am hanging out to find out what is going to happen next year.  I am dreading the thought of telling Matt that he will not be going to High School with Sam, especially since he is so so bright.  Hopefully they will have some positive news for us.

What I find really scary is that as hands on parents whos child has had so many follow-ups over the years he can get to nearly 11 years old before somesomes says hey I don't think his CP is causing this I think he has brain damage.  What would it be like for a child whos parents were not so involved in their childs education and well being.

hugs

Jen

Hey Jen
I am going to be up in Perth the week after next, staying with my brother and his children while Amy goes to Malaysia to see her dad (he is very unwell). Ritchie lives not far from the Galleria so not all that far from you guys so hopefully we will be able to catch up in person and have a real chat.
I would hate to think how much Matt would be struggling if he didn't have such hands on parents who have done so much to get him the help he needs over the years and put in the hard yards at home with home practice etc. He is very lucky to have you both.

That would be great -  I work Tuesdays and Friday but even that is flexible.

Take care

Jen
