Natalya’s first trip to the emergency department

Yesterday morning both Natalya and I woke up with coughs. It was annoying but not too bad. Then last night about 10ish Natalya’s cough got really bad and had a very disturbing pitch.

My husband Haydon is a registered nurse. In fact he has spent the last few days manning the Accident and Emergency department for the morning shift. When he heard her cough last night he became concerned by the pitch that it may be whooping cough.

So off to the emergency department we went. Just as we were waiting to be let in throught the late night entrance Natalya coughed ...

Hope that you guys are getting over your germs!  It seems to be one thing and then another at this time of the year, I agree, it is much better to be safe than sorry.  We had a similar incident a few weeks ago, and it turned out that Jay had an ear infection and had 2 courses of antibiotics to get rid of it.  I felt a bit silly going to emergency, but he was screaming and had a temperature, and we would have had to wait 2 more hours to go to the GP. It must be good having Haydon around with his nursing expertise.
