Mother asked to leave Mc Donalds - for breastfeeding

Comment Published at 00:2600:264 comments4 comments28 Visits28 VisitsReport
I just read this recent news article about a UK mother asked to leave Mc Donalds for breastfeeding her 13 week old baby. She was told it "wasn't appropriate to breastfeed" and that it was "upsetting teenagers".
When are people going to get the message. Babies need to be fed when they need to be fed. Breastfeeding in public should be acceptable. Nursing mothers should not have to put up with this sort of ignorance.

Yep, been there done that but not at macca's, wouldn't buy anything from there personally, but been asked to leave a cafe before.  Also I've been scowled at by a mother who shoved a hand over her teen son's face to stop him from seeing me feed my baby.  She was about a year old at that time but still needed a feed.  I think that the more people breastfeed in public, the more they will nomalise it and the more society will accept it. Come on people, let's all bf our babies out and about, no more hiding away in the mother's rooms (unless you have a baby like my cousin who is too much of a sticky beak to feed where anyone else is) and start feeding on benches, in cafes, in the park, on the bus, wherever you are when baby needs a feed.

This is disgusting, and thank god that doesnt happen in australia,. and its mums like us that need to stick up for mums that breast feed,......

This place wouldnt have lasted 5 seconds with me, as i used to feed mine at the carols by candle light, and that was in front of thousands of people....

Mums should be allowed to feed their babies whichever way they want, and dont need to be looked down at....

take care
love cazza

Maybe they don't like people bringing their own.
