Ouch she keeps biting my nipples

Comment Published at 05:2405:243 comments3 comments57 Visits57 VisitsReport
Natalya now has two top teeth and two opposing lower teeth. Recently she has taken to grinding them and sometimes lately to biting my nipples. OUCH! I can't help myself I scream! And then I put her down on the floor for a minute. - She will be my surgeon for my nipple-ectomy!

Re: Ouch she keeps biting my nipples
Mine tried that for a little while but being consistent with a firm "No!" and putting her down promptly put an end to that.  She was nearly 10 months before her first teeth came through, but she got 4 teeth in 2 days and knew what to do with them.  I would tell her "Your teeth are for chewing food" then put her back on after about 10 minutes or so.  She got it, she didn't try it much, within a week she was out of the habit.  Once I had to stop the feed and didn't put her on until we'd done what we needed to do which was 2 hours after taking her off so I think that's when she learnt her lesson, not that it was planned or anything.

Believe me it is. But I love breastfeeding her - and she won't take a bottle or solids so I just have to persevere and hopefully she will quickly get the message that biting mummy is not a good idea. - Don't bit the cow that feeds you!
