Magpies

by Mumof4Comment Published at 22:4722:471 comments1 comments91 Visits91 VisitsReport

We have two Magpie nests in my street, one is out the front of my house the other is further down the street. It's funny you always hear stories about them chasing people then it happens to you (still funny tho).It started on Sunday I was riding my bike when next thing I know a magpie was chasing me divebombing at my head, the faster I tried to go the faster it got ,it chased me down the whole street thank goodness for helmets.Tuesday afternoon we walked down the street fine but coming back up the street after picking up Hannah from school was a different story,Hannah saw the Magpie and started to run so it was dive bombing at her head all the kids except her thought it was funny. This morning walking down the street it was trying to get all of us, Trent wanted it to chase him so he was laughing at it and running. So to come home we walked another way.The Magpie out the front seems to be ok except if your on a bike.I saw it walking around the house earlier I think it has taken my sons sandles that were out there this morning and now are gone.

I just googled this about Magpies.

When eggs or young are in the nest, the dominant male magpie in particular may show concern for his chicks by defending the territory from intruders including other magpies, cats and people. And while a magpie may swoop a person, very few will do so, as people aren’t normally seen as a threat.

But remember! Aggressive behaviour in a magpie will usually last for only six to eight weeks during the breeding season, so try to avoid nesting areas where magpies are known to swoop.

Wish us luck I have to go down the road to pick up Hannah from school soon

My morning

by Mumof4Comment Published at 22:0722:070 comments0 comments155 Visits155 VisitsReport

What a morning it has been, first Trent was in one of his moods and he always seems to take his fustrations out on Alicia.Trent was playing with one of his toys when Lachie decided he wanted it, without asking for it back Trent hit Lachie,Lachie threw the toy at Trent then Trent went upto Alicia grabed her hair and pulled a clup of her hair out.Poor Alicia he always seems to hurt her.I told Trent what he had done had hurt Alicia and he shouldn't pull her hair and that he wouldn't like it if someone pulled his hair out,I ask him does he understand what i'm saying to him and he just says I want to be good i'm not naughty.I was told when he started talking more I would start having behaviour problems well I think that has started and now I need to get help with this.

Lachie decided to go through my pantry again and he emptied out a full bag of caster sugar over the kitchen floor and the loungeroom floor,Michael bought something to see if we can lock our pantry but he hasn't put it on yet I will have to see if I can do it, i've had enough of the mess on my kitchen floor.

Let's see if the rest of the day will get better lol
