My daughter Mya is 18 months and was sleeping in our bed from day 1.  I loved it, my fiance not so thrilled.  Her crib was also in our room even though she has her own room.  We decided to try putting her in her own room and letting her fall asleep on her own.  I was soooo nervouse but we did it. The first night i gave Mya a bath read her a book said good night put her in her crib and walked out.  She screamed for 15 minutes and passed out.  I thought she would scream for hours.  She also slept through the night which she never did before.  The next day I tried this for her nap it worked again the next night she cried for 2 minutes and went to sleep.  Success!!!!  Even though I liked cuddling with her its nice not to wake up with a tiny foot in your face.
