Parenting- So rewarding but so tiring!!!

Absolutely knackered! My daughter is currently staying with my brother, sister in law nephew and niece on a 3 month 'holiday' with them in Reykjavik, Iceland. as my younger boys were with their dad, my mum and I flew over to visit them all so I could see my gorgeous daughter but also so we could meet out brand new niece/grand daughter. Aft er a weekend with little sleep, who wants to sleep when you only have a weekend to see your family.... have had little sleep since as I have two angry boys, the 12 year old and the 9 year old have both slept with me every since, they were first of all upset that I have seen their sister and they didn't but once over that the 12 year old can't sleep as he spent weekend watching horror movies like Halloween and is now scared of the dark and the youngest keeps asking for more time with his dad because he thinks that then his dad will actually get to know him and even like him!! My poor boys. I have now taken over the reins for christmas plans and will try not to let their dad intimidate me again. My boys need me to be strong and they need daily confirmation that they are two delightful, loved and wonderful boys that have a Mum who will literally do anything for them, even stand up to a man she is still terrified of. Wish me luck!

My first day

by nell18-3Comment Published at 01:2401:240 comments0 comments102 Visits102 VisitsReport
HI This is my first day as a member and it already feels like a new start of friendships for me. Life is hard at the moment, tho getting better, just the knocks take me down quickly. My passion is and always will be the children, I have been a stay at home Mum since having my oldest now 22 and although we have problems at the moment through the divorce from his dad, I know I love him to bits and it will be OK one day. I am only happy when I have my children around me so am struggling big time with sharing them with a 'dad' who has not wanted to be involved in the day to day experience of parenting, which I personally think is the very best job in the world!!! I want my children to always feel loved, special, appreciated and the best gift I have ever had or likely to have.
