Hi ,
I am a stay at home mum who is now, at the ripe old age of 40, going back to University to study a Bachelor of Arts. I have a wondreful husband who is a Technical Officer in a large scale vineyard in the Riverland South australia. My 4 boys are terrific and even though there is a big age gap from my first two and my little ones life as a parent second time round is great. As you get to know me you will realise that I'm a bit of a dag and never really take life to seriously, my opinion is it's to short as it is so live and enjoy and try not to get an ulcer worrying about things too much. My family and friends get a great belly laugh out of my regular emails about our extrordinary goings on so much so that I am starting to get a fan base. Like the name says there is never a dull moment in our house and even the simplest thing like me going off to buy beads can, and has, turned out to me causing my own personal 3 car pile up! (Scary but true!)
Anyway I hope to have many a chat with you all and share some of my advice on things I've learnt over the years (I do take notice of some things!) I feel privelledged to be part of your wonderful group.
cheers

Today was just one of those days where nothing went to plan, even the simplest of tasks turned out to be a drama. It was my kid free day, Mon is daycare and I usually can get all the little jobs out of the way that I find hard when the kids are home. Not today I had a meeting this morning and it went longer than I planned, then I had a few errands to run and had an offsider with me and she managed to make those take twice as long. So needless to say by the time I finally walked in the door I was home for an hour and then had to go pick up the kids, I wanted to yell kick and scream, my patience had been tested on all levels and i'm to bloody soft to say NO! Tommorrow we have a house inspection and I wanted to go through and give the place a good old fashioned spit and polish so everything gleamed, now i've done the everyday chores and given the place a good tidy up but not to my usual standard. I am slighltly obsessive compulsive when it comes to cleaning and people coming to visit, if it's not perfect I will obsess inwardly till I go slightly mental. So thats why I wanna throw a tantrum, bloody, bloody, bloody, stomp, stomp. There it's over I've vented, deep breathe count to 10 exhale inner calm.
Thanks |

I am on the local Christmas Pageant Committee, wow what a busy job I took on, firstly i am responsible for all the publicity involved with te Pageant. Then I came up with the idea of a free yellow brick road activity for the kids to get involved in as well, this has been an exciting and very demanding job. On the night each child starts off with a bag and a clue list which must be stamped along the yellow brick road, they stop at selected points and recieve a little gift, might be a lollypop, ruler, eraser, pencil, sticker anything to that effect. Once they complete the yellow brick road they not only have a bag of goodies but also get to put their completed clue list into the barrel and later on in the evening they also have the opportunity to win one of the many donated prize packs, I've donated a bike as a pize on the night. I've had so much support from local businesses and some of the bigger companies it's really coming together, even managed to get some of the politicians involved. At the start of this project I wondered if the term community spirit still existed and I must say IT STILL DOES! it has renewed my faith in the good of man. With all of the troubles in the world today it's a great thing to know that community spirit still lives on so Today i say THANK-YOU ALL for just being you, with your laughter and your smiles and the fact that I know that there is good in all of us we just have to let it shine.
Oh and Anthony has badly bruised ribs from the crash on Monday so I have the pleasure of his company till next Wednesday at home, he's being a reasonable patient though the medication the Doc gave him is quite potent and he's very subdued and he's also proven that even at 18 he still needs his mummy! LOL Like he'd ever admit it out loud though..............
Can't say the pantry is getting off easy really I forgot just how much he can consume if he's not at work or out with freinds the grocery bill has doubled this week and as far as my stocking up in case of emergency supplies, GONE!
As for Bailey and Cooper , well they're just up to mischief as usual, this morning Bailey tried to behead Action Man with a plastic saw (said he was a doctor!) and Cooper has managed to pull Bobble Head Greg Wiggles, head, off and now his head lives in his pocket. He loves the Willels as he calls them and he's as proud as punch of his Greg Head. I did wonder if I was raising potential serial killers, but now I realise it's just kids play. I cut the hair off my sisters Cindy grow hair doll one time and peirced her ears with mums sewing pins and I like to think i'm fairly normal LOL
Well thats us for the week
Have a great weekend

Happy Monday Everyone,
Don't you just love the start of the week? Never knowing whats in store. I have had a wonderful day, dropped the 2 little ones off at daycare and went for coffee to console a friend who'd just dropped her youngest. He has Down Syndrome and he's never stayed with anyone apart from me for a long period of time, so she was a little worried how he would go. He went fine and so did she, he was in the same room as Cooper, Bailey popped in to their room for visits so he wasn't alone. We love him like he is our own, we love his big brother too, but Riley holds a special place in our hearts. After coffee I came home and did the whole spring cleaning thing, my home is now spick and span and ready for the week as well.
Poor Anthony arrived home from work with xrays in hand and looking a bit worse for wear, turns out he crashe the quad bike at work and they think he has either fractured or broken a couple of ribs. The bike isn't much better from whay I can tell, we're back off to Docs tommorrow to get results, lets hope they're just bruised. He's working for a big scale citrus and grape growing company driving tractors and doing general maintenance work, his boss was pretty sympathetic so that's good.
Not much else to say really, the days been wonderful about 29degrees, so far the week has started well (apart from poor Ants mishap but he'll live he's a pretty tough kid and bounces back quick!) wonder what Tuesday will bring having mums group here tommorrow so the place will be over-run with kids and mums. Weather's gonna be great again but if your listening up there a little bit of rain wouldn't go astray, some of our farmers and our cities really need it.
So a happy Monday to you all and I hope the rest of your week goes well.
cheers

Well that's my day today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm just a bit tired and grumpy and so are the kids we've had a few late nights this week, what with the show on the weekend and Mon a friend came round with her 2 boys, Tues was bowls and drama and last night the 18yr old decided to stay out late. Normally I wouldn't worry but as a parent you sometimes just get a weird feeling and wham bam you can't relax till their safe and home in bed. If he had of just rang me after he left work to say he wouldn't be home i'd have been fine, I won't call him cause he grumbles that he needs freedom and after all he is 18 (can't win sometimes!). So I decided to wait it out and ended up reading in bed till about 2.30am and my eyes couldn't stay open anymore, he rolled in bout 4am so hubby tells me, had the day off work today so he thought he'd catch up with his mates. I could have cheerfully rang his neck I was so annoyed with him, he got out of bed at midday ate his way through a small feast and told me to just chill out mum it's all good. Don't get me wrong he's a good kid and I love him to death but sometimes he tests the patience of a saint as I'm sure all teenagers like to do, my mum says I was not unlike him so I have to give him some slack I guess.
On a positive note Bailey finally decided that he was gonna shed the nappy for good and instead of just doin a wee on the toilet he'd do both, this was a big step for him cause he's been quite hard to convince that it's not scary. So the 2 youngest and I celebrated Bailey's entrance into BIG KID world by going out for icecream and a lollypop. It made his day and was so proud of himself he had to ring pop and tell him too. God I love my boys they are my world and you know what I learnt today you may start the day grumpy but if you just relax and let the feeling drift away eventually it turns out to be a good one. Oh and Ant and I made up next time he's gonna call.
Cheers and a big ball of positive energy to you all
