So today Marley had the big six month appointment. You know what that means? Another large dose of pain inducing, supposed shots and vaccinations. I'm still not sure how I feel about all those shots. On one hand, the most doctors swear up and down about how great all the shots are and that you need to give your baby all the vaccinations or they will get sick and die. Now we don't want that, so we get the shots. Now I also know that most babies will probably be just fine with out all those shots, and that there is a lot of information out there saying that the all those shots that babies get now, are the main factor leading to all these babies getting autism and other weird things now. Years ago babies didn't have all wide spread problems that they have now like the ever increasing amount of SIDS and growing numbers of kids with autism.

Still, there is a lot more people out there that say the vaccines are safe and you should definatly give your child all the help they can get in you nasty, disease infested world. So she got the shots, cried, and was ok. Hopefully she doesn't get the flu, because then I will have to say that the flu shot she got today didn't work. Only set her up for a lifetime of flu sickness, and she will have to get flu shots every year just like the rest of us... damn you pharmaceutical companies.

This week has been and adventure in eating. Marley has had some bananas in her cereal for the last few days. One of my personal favorites. Who doesn't like bananas in their cereal? Well she like that stuff. Now were on to applesauce. The faces that she makes when she eats the applesauce are priceless, it's like she just had a lemon or something. Even though she makes the faces, she loves the food, I think... most of the time. Sometimes after just a small amount of food, she locks her lips. She decides, that she is not gonna open up for anything. So we tickle her, when her mouth opens we put the food in. Sometimes it works, sometimes the food flies back in my face!

Today, Marley went in a real swing at the park. She loved it. I need to get one of those in our yard. She's really doing great with all the moving around, almost crawling now. She's always on all fours, rocking back and forth, but the last few days she has been scooting forward until she falls on her face. She still hasn't figured out what to do with her arms.

Thanks Dixie for the eating tips... we started to put some mashed up banana in the food. She is eating more enthusiastically... but the poop, my god, the poop is quite pungent, it burns the nostrils.
I think all this new food is giving her quite a case of diaper rash.
