This post is from from my other blog here

You've seen Alien, right. That's whats become of our life. Watching this tiny being, wiggle, push and poke my wife's belly in all kinds of messed up shapes and positions. Sometimes pushing out so hard it seems she's just going to bust right out. Its so weird. I really can't imagine, (well I could only imagine... in my nightmares) what it would be like to have something inside me. Growing. Doing everything that I do. Eating everything I eat. Hearing what I hear. Going everywhere I go. Being "part of me." It all just seems so... unreal.
We're only five days past our due date, but it has seemed like...longer. We have literally been trying every way, and I mean EVERY way to try to coax this little girl out. So far, without any luck. We have, however had wonderful time together the last few days. With my wife, now on her maternity leave, we have done a lot of fun stuff. Gone on lots of walks through the woods at Saltwater State Park and Dash Point. Visiting friends and family. Getting caught up on movies. Just trying to pass the time. We're getting pretty anxious now. Waiting has definitely been the hardest part so far. It's kinda like waiting for the best present that you could ever imagine, but you don't know when you're gonna it. You just know that it's coming soon.
The other day we were having dinner at a BBQ restaurant for my Dad's birthday, I was sure to order the spicy sauce for the wife and I share.(spicy stuffs supposed to help get the baby out) After dinner we went back to my parents house for some Cribbage and movies. Half way through our card game she started feeling some strange pains, pains that she said she hadn't felt before. Contractions? They were real quick, inconsistent, and sharp. We decided we better head home. After my wife changed out of her Citizen jeans and into some sweat pants...we discovered that the spicy food that might bring contractions, brought...gas! Oh well, on to the next method.
On Saturday we went some friends of ours 3 year old boy's birthday party. Craziness! There must have been 15 to 20 kids, all under 4 years old. It was nuts. Watching parents chase there kids around while trying to do whatever they can to minimize the destruction, got me thinking...is this what the rest of my life (at least the next??? years) going to be like? I can't wait! I've been waiting for someone to play with for a long time.
The entertainment at the party was top notch. A Ninja Turtle pinata, and The Reptile Guy! I felt bad for my friend whose job it was to hold the pinata up on a short stick for all kids to whack at. I'm sure that he took a few shots to the jewels, and other parts of his body. Finally he had enough punishment and ripped the pinata open and shook the candy on the floor.
The Reptile Guy was...different. First of all, this reptile guy only had one eye! I'm sure he got everybody wondering which one of his reptiles, that their toddler children are about to be face to face with, got away with that eye? The show was great though. He had a 15lb frog, a 8 inch emperor scorpion, geckos, giant iguanas, a 4-5 ft alligator that was opening his mouth wide enough to fit most of kids in, and finally a 12 ft boa constrictor. The reptile guy then draped the massive snake around my friends shoulders while his son sat in his lap. What a picture moment. But then the snake started putting the squeeze on my buddy's head! It didn't take long before his head started to turn purple and eyes started watering. What a powerful animal! I'm sure the kids and parents will remember that party for a long time.
Anyway, these are just some of the things that we are doing to help pass the time. Lets hope she wants out soon!
