My Recent Gifts

Me and My Family

Valentine's Text

My husband and I have been married for 18 years. We have three wonderful boys aged 18, 17 and 8. They drive us insane, but give us some of the best experiences of our lives.

David is finished school and is now a furniture removalist. He is my daredevil. Loves to BMX and his car, and be very stupid with his mates. He does have a sensible head on his shoulders tho.

Alex is in Year 11. He is my reader. Would have his head buried in a book from dawn to dusk if he was able. Drives me insane sometimes, especially when he has to do something around the house.

My baby Connor is in Year 3. Not that he is a baby any more. They grow up so fast. He is my sportsman. He has a motor mouth, which runs as much and as fast as his legs keep doing. He is adorable.

works at a Childcare Centre near home, as the Cook . The work is great, I just love it.

works full time in Manufacturing, which is good as he is home every night. He used to own his own business and be away travelling for nights or weeks on end.

World's Greatest Shave

Comment Published at 22:5422:540 comments0 comments56 Visits56 VisitsReport

I'm taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World's Greatest Shave this year.  Take a look at my Profile Page by clicking this link:

http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/leisaholman?SID=142271&Lang=en-CA   Please sponsor me by making an online donation using a credit card.  I’m aiming to raise as much as I can for the Leukaemia Foundation.  Their vital work provides patients with practical support during their long and tough treatment, as well as funding important research.   Did you know? - Every hour of every day, at least one person in Australia is diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma. - Every two hours, someone loses their life to blood cancer. - $26 can provide emotional support to help someone overcome the shock of being diagnosed - $40 can help improve treatments and find cures by funding a PhD student's laboratory costs for a day - $57 can support patients who are too ill to drive by providing a day's transport to and from treatment - $80 can give a regional family who've had to move closer to treatment, a place to call home for a night   For more information about the Leukaemia Foundation visit their website: http://www.leukaemia.org.au   Thank you for your support! Newcastle and Umina

Comment Published at 20:0320:0310 comments10 comments72 Visits72 VisitsReport

Well have found out that we are definitely going to my girlfriends 40th birthday the last weekend of February.

We will be flying to Newcastle and getting a hire car from there. Can't wait. will be soo much fun. just to catch up with her and the family.

So if there is anyone in those two areas who would be interested in catching up over a coffee, I would love to meet some Mintiers!! Let me know.

On a sad note, I realised this morning that I only have 5 days of holidays left. 2 days if I don't count the weekend and public holiday next week! Then I have to go back to work. Boo hoo.

Cheers for now.

Bear Makers Lutwyche

Comment Published at 06:5706:573 comments3 comments510 Visits510 VisitsReport

Had a fantastic day today. took Connor to the Bear Makers at Lutwyche. It was so cool tho not as interactive as I thought it might be.

First you pick out what sort of bear you like. They have all the skins made up.

You get to choose whether you put in a voice box and record a message on it. (He didn't).

Then you stuff it with the big machine, to the softness you want it.

Then you have to brush out the fur and make sure that it is nice and fluffy.

You have a choice of clothing it. (Again he didn't)

Then the kids do up the birth certificate.

So for $32 Connor made "Wolfgang, Duke of Kedron...Wolfie for short)...

Skate Park and home again

Comment Published at 19:4519:455 comments5 comments58 Visits58 VisitsReport

Took Connor and Dave down to the skate park this morning. Connor had a friend stay over last night so he came too. They had lots of fun, then we came home as it was way tooooo hot to be outside in the middle of the day. Picked dave's girl up and she is busily cleaning his room, while he sets up the queen size bed base that he has, in the hopes that he will get a queen sized mattress to go on it.

Will have to work on that one.
