I have been looking at laser printers now for a while. I wanted one for school assignments etc as they just look nicer when presented in that print. More professional. So I was at Officeworks last week, picking up some more ink for my injet printer. I just did my usual look around at prices for lasers. I only wanted a mono one, but if the price was right I would get a colour one.
And there it was. $129, mono laser printer. AND A BONUS 500GB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE!!! Now my eldest has been at me for ages to buy him an external drive for his computer, so that he can put all his music onto it. He has borrowed mine countless times for school as he is part of the sound and lighting crew and they use the music for our dances etc. But mine is not compatible with a MAC, and his friend has a heap of stuff he wants but he can't get it. The new one is compatible. The only thing I will have to deal with, is his will be bigger than mine. Mine is only a 320Gb.
Oh well he is happy, he will have a hard drive. I am happy I have my laser printer. And I printed the menus out for work this week, and it is so super fast! I love it.
Hi!! Sounds great and an extra that you actually want and can use makes it all the better! Gone are the days when writing your best was what was needed for assignments, you need to hand things in looking totally professionally done now days don't you!
It's nice when we buy things and I'm getting excited as when my son comes home on holiday My hubby is buying me an Apple Mac ,Currently I have a Packard Bell laptop but they are encouraging me to change, mine is slow My children Helen, Marcus and Simon all have Apple macs and I do use the computer more since I have been on minti
Hope your printer isn't like ours, haunted! lol No kidding, in the middle of the night, when it is switched off, our printer has a hissy fit!!! lol.
Laser printers are actually more ink conservative than the bubble jet printers, so you will save money in the long run too, oh, and most new printers can be upgraded to carry colour cartridges too.
I used to have one that did similar things. It went in the bin when the amusement value wore off. I think I will just leave it as black, I have the two printers connected and the laser may actually get networked yet. Not sure tho.
its great when you get something you really need and a bonus as well
when my son bought his latest computer the other one with printer was put downstairs for hubby and i to use would you believe. we havent even plugged it in.
we will still keep it as spare but we all use the one upstairs. its faster has internet access and i can hear the telly going on in the background (i also have ubi international paid tv)
now i want a laptop we have 3 in h/h hubby has his own laptop which work paid for my yongest son was the first to buy his as he has gone back to uni to ro another degree and the oldest just bought one he has two degrees and as well as working full time has decided to go back to uni to get his masters
enjoy your laser printer it makes a difference and its not until you get something upgraded that you wonder how you did without it
It is moving ahead very quickly, which is why I leave it for a long time before I buy anything. then the price has come down and bargains are available. I don't need the new stuff as it comes out. I get it as I need it
