Where is the year going?

by NgairiComment Published at 23:0523:052 comments2 comments18 Visits18 VisitsReport
Where is it going? It is May Day tomorrow, and it seems like the year has only just started. Before you know it, it will be Mother's Day, then Fathers Day, then it will be Christmas. Do you know there are only 238 days til Christmas! That's only 34 weeks to save up again. Well as I write this I am informed it is actually 238 days, 22 hours and 55 minutes, but who's counting? It is just flying by. Cheers Leisa

LEST WE FORGET

For The Fallen

Stone of RemembranceWith proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables at home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain,
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

I had my first experience at Bingo today, and won $100! Woo hoo. I think I could get addicted to this. It was so much fun. Friends have talked about going to bingo, but i always thought, yeah one day. Well now my friend is talking about doing it once a month. eek! My husband laughed at me when i told him where i was going and said that ' you know you are getting old when you start going to bingo ' Well I had fun waving the $100 at him when i got home. LOL

Cheers

Time

by NgairiComment Published at 16:5716:570 comments0 comments8 Visits8 VisitsReport

A month ago, I mentioned that now the kids are at school, I would have some spare time. NOT HAPPENING. I seem to spend more time soing nothing than ever before. I don't mean that I am doing nothing, just can't see any results or outcomes of what I am doing. Oh well, in two weeks I go on holiday to Melbourne with a few of my friends. This could be the start of an annual event (I hope). Of course that is if you can count 3 days as a holiday. Hmmm, no husband no kids no phone...yep it's a holiday. Better go and do something constructive. Chat soon.
