I swear I am just about to call the police in on my middle one. He has stolen money from my wallet again. This time $100. I would love to know what he is doing with it, but of course he swears he hasn't taken it. Mind you he was the one rifling through my wallet this morning! Just ranting a bit. I actually went to see the school chaplain, to see if she can get it out of him as to what he is actually doing with the money. She will also look into ways of getting some help for him, but as she says sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind and it just might be the kick in the ass that he needs. It just get to me so much, especially when centrelink have cut half my payments so I am just scraping by as it is. Take care all. Leisa |

I spent the day at school today, primarily for a meeting that turned into waiting for the police as some of our fundraising money had been stolen. That was a real bummer.
Then tonight I spent 3 hours at the Emergency Room at the hospital with my eldest boy, who in his 16yr old wisdom, decided with his mates, to light a small can of petrol, in the shed. Needless to say his arm is now dressed from fingertips to elbow in bandaging and I have to go back in on Friday for them to re dress it. Luckily for him he has only superficial burns and a couple of nasty blisters. Could have been a lot worse. We got in straight away, and they put cream on it and gave him some painkillers and then had to wait for that to soak in to releive the stinging and burning before they could do anything.
At least he will have a story to tell.
Oh well another year another burn.

Well it was my eldest son's 16th Birthday today. He came home from school with extremely sore arms, 30 lots of 16 punches apparently. He was very grateful that I was not at the school today. Last year I put a big sign up above the canteen wishing him a happy birthday, so he said thanks for not coming up. He he.
Anyway, he chose to have basil and pesto lamb rumps for dinner. Never had them before, they are pretty costly but well worth it. They were delicious. Then we had birthday cake, and even I had a slice (naughty me).
Haven't got him his big present yet, he got a suit coat to go with his trousers, but he hasn't decided what else he wants so we are going shopping on the weekend. Mind you he did ask for a laptop, but I just laughed.
Only Father's Day and 3 more birthdays to go within the next 40 days. I hate this time of year - apart from the fact that it is my birthday in amongst it all so it can't be too bad.
The rain is wonderful, tho the wind is driving me nuts. Oh well, we need the rain. Til next time.

I was reading a comment made on an article I wrote, and someone had said they had not heard of Dr Seuss. I have grown up with Seuss, so I could not fathom this, especially with the movies that have been made in more recent years. So I decided to do a little research on Dr Seuss to see what I could come up with. I relived all his books through some quotations I found, and a few that I hadn't read. It has renewed my interest in Dr Seuss actually. I think I will have to endeavour to find some of his books. But I Think the best thing I found was the following paragraph, by Gene Ziegler, taken from What if Dr Seuss Wrote Technical Manuals, A Grandchild's Guide to Using Grandpa's Computer
Here's an easy game to play.
Here's an easy thing to say....
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
And the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,
And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash!
You can't say this? What a shame sir!
We'll find you another game sir.
If the label on the cable on the table at your house,
Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
But your packets want to tunnel on another protocol,
That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall,
And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss
So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!
When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk,
And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary RISC,
Then you have to flash your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM.
Quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your mom

I am now officially a pin cushion. I have had 2 days worth of blood tests. I have been given the go ahead for my D&C to remove the polyp, and they also decided to insert a Mirena at the same time, to help with the amount of bleeding. I have had a GTT today to check my sugar levels etc to see if I may have diabetes. I am sick of the sight of the doctors office.
My almost 16 yr old has got himself a job working at the Brisbane Exhibition, so should get a little bit of play money for himself (after he pays me back what he owes me). I have told him he can have days off school if he can work during the week. They get 2 days off next week for the Ekka anyway, so he won't be missing much really. The only drag is picking him up at night. But I can handle that.
Cheers for now. Leisa |

This week has been really busy, and I have only been able to sit down here for little snippets at a time. Monday, work and giving out our chocolates for our choccy drive at school. Tuesday, school again to sort out more choccies. Wednesday, work and fundraising meeting sorting out where we are at with Market days, Chocolates, and trying to nut out our Melbourne Cup Luncheon. The lady who is organising the market days told one of the parents that a few of us are backstabbing, lying, lazy bigmouth bitches who don't do anything to support her. (We didn't even know about the market day the SHE organised until 2 days before it was supposed to be on!) Then to cap it all off as she is part of the fundraising committee (supposedly) she said her piece about market day and left. Didn't bother staying to talk about anything else. Our senior hospitality students are catering and serving for our Luncheon so this looks like it is shaping up well.
Wednesday, we also got informed that on Thursday we were having a Year 8 Gala Day hosting the touch football. For those that don't know, a Gala Day is where all the Year 8's in the district, get together for various sporting events for a day. The PE teacher told us that schools were told there would be a BBQ on. So then I had to organise bulk snags and bread etc. Thursday, go to the butchers to get the meat, then the bread shop etc, get to school do the BBQ, and all the kids want hot dogs and sausage rolls. Didn't even go through half the damn sausages.
Friday, work and help out in the canteen. Went home and did the housework that I hadn't had the time or inclination for all week. Saturday, today I was at Netball canteen working this morning. Sunday we have a Netball carnival with so far 106 teams in attendance. I will be doing the BBQ there too and that starts at 7am. Won't finish til about 4.30 and then come home and crash I think. Kids are all going out tomorrow, with mates and grandma, so hubby has a day to himself. He can cook dinner too. I got a Pork roast out, so will see if he can crackle it well. I can't eat pork (doesn't agree with me) not that I will feel like eating anyway, so hopefully the kids will like his pork.
Well thats my bitching and rambling for another week. Busy one next week too with doctors and hospital appointments. So probably won't write for another week.
Oh and on the up side, we 'girls' have decided on another 3 day trip to Melbourne in January! Just need to find some fairly reasonable accommodation at that time of the year. Any suggestions?
Cheers and keep smiling. Leisa |
