WooHoo, Melbourne Storm (the other Qld team!) won the footy! Go the Storm.
Was Alex's 15th Birthday today, and we had a lovely day. He got a Soccer ball and a camera and camp fees paid for. He had to pack his suitcase, as he is off to camp tomorrow for the week. Then I had to go shopping and get the bits he was missing. Had a Roast Lamb dinner for his birthday dinner, and then we sat down to watch the football.
Connor lost one of the two of his top front teeth that are loose, so the tooth fairy paid a visit while the footy was on. Damn tooth fairy didn't have any change and had to leave $2. Which means she will have to leave $2 for the other one when it drops out. (Mind you he is going to Mum's tomorrow for a couple of days, so maybe it will fall out there and that tooth fairy will visit him! Heehee.)
David's 'girl/female' friend might be coming over to stay the night one day this week. Hmm I am not too sure about this one. Apparently she has a little history, but they will be right I am sure. However they will NOT be sleeping in the same room.
Well that's all my news for today. Leisa |

I actually went out with 3 of my friends tonight for dinner and a movie. Dinner was great, and we saw Stardust. This was such a feel good movie, we laughed the whole way through it. I know my kids will love it, when they can watch it at home (not cool to be seen going to that movie). My youngest went to see Surf's Up with friends of ours, it is getting to be a tradition that they take him to the movies on the holidays. They get their grandkid fix without the grandkids. It's great all round. I get a break and they get to see a kids movie. And of course they buy the popcorn, choc top, frozen coke. He is in hog heaven when they go. The eldest spent last night at a mates place, and tonight the middle one is with my mum and dad for the night. Not bad.
Well gotta go to bed, as I am out tomorrow night for dinner as well. It is our monthly birthday dinner, and it was my birthday so venue was my choice, so I gotta go. Anyways cheers til next time. Leisa |

It sounds terrible, but I am so sick of birthdays. And I have one child still to go next week.
You see today is Connors 6th Birthday, and of course that is a big one, with school party etc. Dave had his on 21-8, I had mine on 11-9 and of course Fathers Day was in there as well on 2-9.
I am just so over them. At least with Alex, he is going to camp the day after his birthday, so that it is his present. But he enjoys going to them. This one is just for boys. He should have lots of fun, but I am now broke. I only found out about the camp last week, and they needed payment almost straight away. But because he had been to camp with them at Christmas they allowed him to go. It is run by YFC, so they have lots of fun with a little religion thrown in, which is OK by me and him. He will get opportunities to do things there that he wouldn't otherwise.
School holidays now for 2 weeks. Oh joy!
Connor has a little girl from his class over tonight for a sleep over. She is a really good little girl. And fits in well with the boys.
Cheers for now. Leisa |

Tonight we had the Primary School Concert. Oh boy...I just love these! NOT! I sit on uncomfortable seats, trying to see around peoples heads, to watch the little ones on stage that are not mine, and to listen to songs that the kids can't sing properly, while dancing to some tune in their own heads.
I do like them really, I am very proud of all of them. They put so much hard work into it and they love being up on stage with everyone watching them. My son's class and the other Year 1 class did "The Ants Go Marching". They had to come all in black and they had made their ant costumes at school. They looked so adorable. I had to admit having a tear in my eye - I am such a sook when it comes to my kids on stage.
I wish I could up load a photo but it won't let me. If anyone can help with this please let me know. Thanks.

I have come to realise how much my Minti friends mean to me. I was talking to some of the ladies at school today about my weekend, and I realised that they kept cutting me off and telling me what happened on their weekends. It is very annoying to have people do this to you.
But I can come in here, and say what I might need to say, and some people will read it, some will comment, but it is nice to know that some people care. We all have good days and bad, the balance usually tipping to one side of the scale or the other, and we all come in here and tell it. We know that if we have a bad day, poeple will give support and try and make us feel better, if we have a good day, then others will help to celebrate.
To come onto our home page and find that someone has been thinking of you and dropped by your lounge to say hi, even if you haven't stopped by their place for a while, lets you know that you have someone somewhere who thinks you are worth something. That is a wonderful feeling.
So to honour my friends on here, I would like to add this -

Have a good week all. Leisa |

We had my youngest's birthday party on Sunday. It was cool, I was a wreck after tho. Quite tired but only because hubby and I had gone out last night for a few drinks and dinner. On the other side of town, so got home late.
Party was a great success, he scored some good presents. Now I have an idea of what not to buy for his birthday on Friday, tho I am still stumped on what TO get him,
Last year his choice was a mobile phone or an MP3 player. At 5yrs old, he got the MP3. I won't give him a mobile yet. But he doesn't know what he wants for this year, except for the Nintendo Wii. And there ain't no way he's getting one of them. So thinking cap goes on for the week. Oh well.
Only 4 more days to go until school holidays begin. C has Friday off cause he is in Yr 1 and they have a pupil free day. Damn it, why can't teachers be at school 251 days a year? I think it is very bad of them to expect to have things like school holidays and such. I think they should just have weekends and public holidays off. That's still works out at 16 weeks off. LOL Just joking!!!
Anyway, day was good, I am tired but happy.
Keep smiling. Leisa |

Well I had a very nice day today for my birthday, tho it started too early! the kids got me up at 6.30am, to give me my pressies. But I scored well I must admit. Lots of gift vouchers and chocolate (which is not really good for the waist line). I had to go to the doc this morning for a check up on my weight loss, and I had put on 1/2 kilo in the last month. But the doc says this was ok, as I had been in hospital and had birthday lunches so she wants me back in 3 months time to check my weight.
Mum dropped in this morning for an unexpected visit, and we ended up going to Chermside Shopping Centre to have hair cuts, she got her hair coloured and I got my nails redone. Then I picked up a beautiful orchid plant for $15 reduced from $32. Bargain I think.
Hubby and kids cooked dinner - chicken kievs from scratch - and made a choccy cake for dessert. Have to have a cake on the birthday! So was very relaxing.
Back to reality tomorrow, but it is nice to be pampered twice a year!
