My husband and I have been together for 20 years (this year), and moved from Queensland to South Australia about 18 years ago.
13 years ago we bought our own home - 2 acres with an old stone house that we are s-l-o-w-l-y renovating. We have no mail serviced, public transport, mains water, rubbish pick up, broadband etc - all those things other people take for granted. We do have incredibly red sunsets, peace and quiet, no visible neighbours, and the best view of the stars.
We have 3 boys ranging in age from 9 to 14. Our eldest has been tagged "gifted" and has food intollerances. The second child desperately wants to be a "STAR!" and the youngest is cricket-crazy.
My husband and I both work in hospitality, which has inhospitable and family-unfriendly hours. But like everyone else, we're doing the best we can with what we have. |

Well, a couple of days of flooding rain
and the dry, brown grass is green again.
The dusty roads have turned to mush,
the garden's looking pretty lush.
The weeds are high and need a cut.
The washing's wet, and so's the mut.
The kids don't want to leave the house,
so we're all fighting for the computer mouse.

I'm starting to discover the same faces on the topics I'm reading - and the groups I'm joining. I guess it's a case of having the same interests.
