My husband and I have been together for 20 years (this year), and moved from Queensland to South Australia about 18 years ago.

13 years ago we bought our own home - 2 acres with an old stone house that we are s-l-o-w-l-y renovating. We have no mail serviced, public transport, mains water, rubbish pick up, broadband etc - all those things other people take for granted. We do have incredibly red sunsets, peace and quiet, no visible neighbours, and the best view of the stars.

We have 3 boys ranging in age from 9 to 14. Our eldest has been tagged "gifted" and has food intollerances. The second child desperately wants to be a "STAR!" and the youngest is cricket-crazy.

My husband and I both work in hospitality, which has inhospitable and family-unfriendly hours. But like everyone else, we're doing the best we can with what we have.
