My son caught a cold from play group this week. It really irks me when parent's bring their sick children into a group of well children. This is not a daycare, or drop off play group. It is an optional, developmental group. There are rules about this.
The next time another child is sniffling I am going to take my son and go. I will not bring him into the group if and when I even suspect he is sick. I don't like infecting other kids.
As for the whole "building immunity" thing, well, he is only two, and growing up I know my sister and I did not go to school until kindergarten. The only other little kids we were around were family members (we have a lot of cousins). Our immunity is just fine. I was hardly ever sick as a kid.
Anyway, we are both sleepy today because he does not sleep well when he has a cold. He reverts back to his infant days of sleeping four hours at a time. Luckily I was able to alleviate some of his symptoms with some natural remedies. |
